    Job Description:

    The Field Coordinator is responsible for on-site coordination across subcontractor trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, weatherization) and ensuring installations and upgrades are performed efficiently and to a high standard. The role requires routine on-site presence to monitor progress and ensure quality control.

     

    Project Overview:

    This project focuses on delivering comprehensive energy and electrification upgrades to approximately 75–100 homes in Lansing and Inkster.

     

    Responsibilities:

    · Serve as primary point of contact between Powerbase and subcontractors

    · Coordinate scheduling and sequencing across trades

    · Monitor progress and resolve issues

    · Ensure work meets specifications, safety standards, and codes

    · Facilitate QA/QC checks and documentation

    · Provide regular project updates

     

    Physical Requirements:

    · Lift up to 70 lbs

    · Work in attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders

    · Stand for extended periods

     

    Qualifications:

    · Licensed General Contractor or QA/QC certification preferred

    · 3–5 years residential construction coordination experience

    · Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and weatherization systems

    · Excellent communication and organizational skills

     

    Education:

    High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.

    Senior HVAC Technician

    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential HVAC systems while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior technicians. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.Install new HVAC systems, ductwork, thermostats, and indoor air quality equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.Perform preventative maintenance on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, and ventilation systems.Lead complex service calls and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.Inspect equipment to identify operational issues and recommend repair or replacement solutions.Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Commission and test newly installed HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders using mobile or computerized service software.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and company safety procedures.Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair options, maintenance recommendations, and energy-efficient upgrades.Collaborate with project managers, dispatchers, and field supervisors to complete projects on schedule.Assist with inventory management by identifying parts and material requirements.Participate in emergency service calls and rotating on-call schedules as required.

     

    Required Qualifications

    Minium of 5 years of HVAC installation and service experience.High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, and mechanical components.Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.Experience servicing:Air conditionersHeat pumpsGas and electric furnacesBoilersRooftop units (RTUs)Mini-split systemsCommercial HVAC equipmentAbility to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
