Position Summary
The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating wound care treatments while promoting skin integrity and preventing pressure injuries. This role works closely with physicians, nursing staff, therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive skin and wound assessments.Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care plans.Monitor healing progress and adjust treatments as appropriate.Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care.Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention and treatment.Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.Monitor wound care supplies and ensure appropriate inventory.Qualifications
Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.Wound care experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, etc.) preferred but not required.Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Passion for delivering outstanding resident-centered care.Why Join The Healthcare Resort of Plano?
