Our client is looking to appoint a successful Tier III Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Engineer in Chantilly, VA. Responsibilities & Essential Duties
    Tier III O&M Network Engineer to support the customer's various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide routing and boundary protection to an enterprise level infrastructure across multiple classifications and act as subject matter experts in routing and boundary technologies across multiple vendors. The job duties of Tier III O&M Network Engineer are as follows: • Maintain the security and networking of enterprise boundary enclaves and devices. • Tier III O&M of Juniper and Cisco routers to include troubleshooting and implementation of routing updates. • Implement new firewall rules along with associated routing to fulfill firewall change requests. • Responsible for installing software, applying patches, managing file systems, and monitoring performance of firewall systems. • Provide support for Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications. • Generate, determine impact of, and implement custom proxy policies and/or policy exceptions in response to ongoing technology implementation activities on the program. • Proxy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for integration of other technologies within the program (function as a SME on ongoing technology projects). • Support the troubleshooting of web connectivity problems to determine root cause. • Perform Proxy solution component upgrades, testing and configuration. • Research and develop evidence collection, protection, and analysis techniques for customer owned and maintained hardware and/or software. • Provide real-time monitoring and alerting of security incident investigations on perimeter/internal infrastructure. • Provide day-to-day Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for all incident management events and outages. • Collaborate with IT staff on projects and initiatives. • Provide input for monthly progress and status reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). • Work with corresponding technical support teams as required to resolve network traffic concerns. • Utilize monitoring tools and log collectors to provide in-dept analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.
    Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills) • TS/SCI with CI Poly • Candidate must have 16 years of relevant/related experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a doctorate and 8 years of experience, master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associates and 14 years, HS diploma and 16 years. • Must comply with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting boundary protection technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Forcepoint appliances • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Juniper and Cisco routers and switches. • Experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPN's, VRF's, MPLS. • Working knowledge of boundary protection best practices • Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnet, Network Address Translation (NAT) and security technologies • Demonstrated ability to engineer and modify rulesets to allow connectivity for new customer requirements • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and develop schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation such that the supported equipment and software can be maintained with minimal training • Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio Desired: Project Management Professional Certification Global Edge Group, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.     Network Engineer (Campus Area Network/Local Area Network (CAN/LAN will support our government customer's global enterprise networks. The CAN/LAN service network architecture provides solutions for modernizing network components while supporting service delivery for customer requirements in a mission-focused operational enterprise. Our team is completely replacing a global enterprise network while providing design, engineering, and transition for a wide range of customer network requirements. This is a unique and rare opportunity to build and transition critical operations to a modern service provider network architecture. The job duties of the Network Engineer (CAN/LAN) are as follows: • Interpret customer requirements and apply standard design approaches for service delivery. Fully document designs with diagrams, bill of materials, cabling sheets, configurations, and other supporting documents. • Use our private test lab to evaluate new technologies and capabilities, test proposed changes to production networks, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios to support the production enterprise network. • Schedule maintenance windows for migrating user connections from legacy to the modern infrastructure transition services with little to no impact on critical data flows. • Provide technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians, supporting fault isolation and resolution. Solve tough problems with innovative and scalable solutions. • Develop secure network designs including configurations that align with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and enterprise policies. Obtain Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices, software, and capabilities. • Supervise (not manage) other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network services. • Develop and improve design products, processes, and systems for our team to work efficiently and effectively. • Although this position is focused on CAN/LAN, this opportunity offers the ability to learn and work on Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Networks (WANs). Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills) • TS SCI CI Poly • The candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a doctorate and 8 years of experience, OR a master's and 10 years, a bachelor's and 12 years, an associate and 14 years, or HS and 16 years. • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 (Security+ CE). • Experience specific to network engineering to include Tier III or higher network operations and/or network design and implementation. • Prior responsibility for production network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper. • Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting standard routing protocols in a production network, such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) or Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) • Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting standard switching and trunking protocols in a production network, such as Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), 802.1q, and port-channels. Desired Qualifications: • Network engineering and design experience specific to CAN/LAN. Experience should include application of industry standards, developing configurations, and integration of solutions into production environments. • Network engineering and design experience with MPLS WANs, network management tools, and firewalls. • Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols and the ability to demonstrate knowledge through briefings and documentation. Extensive BGP experience a plus. • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent knowledge. • Initiative and disciplined to work unsupervised as part of a network engineering team.
