Position Description:
This position supports the work of the Museum’s Collections Department by providing access to the cultural resources and publications of The Franklin Institute. The Special Collections Associate is responsible for the day-to-day processing, organization, and description of library and archival materials, as well as supporting access to collections and publications. The Special Collections Associate reports to the Director of Collections and is a part-time position effectively operating the Institute’s Library and Archives and assisting with The Journal of The Franklin Institute and Franklin Open.

Process publications through cataloging system according to standards in the fieldPerform cataloging and metadata entrySupport ongoing digitization efforts, including preparation, file organization, and metadata creationSurvey, organize, rehouse, digitize, describe, and catalog 2- and 3-D artifacts (e.g. documents, correspondence, prints, ephemera, photographs, film, objects, etc.)Fulfill Library access needs including digital access to publications and collectionsMaintain organization and accessibility of physical and digital collectionsInstitute Journals:

Position Requirements:
Degree in Library and Information Science or related fieldMinimum of three years of experience in a library and/or archiveExperience using an Integrated Library System (ILS) for cataloging and collections accessWorking knowledge of current cataloging and digitization standardsExperience with Koha or similar systems preferredDemonstrated experience with migrations and copyright language a plusAbility to work independently while following established prioritiesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbove average research, writing, and documentation skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and library-related software toolsAbility to lift heavy boxes (40 lb) and bend, reach, and handle materials for extended periodsWork with documents in places that may be dusty, temperature-variable, and difficult to access (incl. small elevator and flights of stairs)Status: Part-time, 30 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 8:45 am – 5:15 pm
Salary: $30.00/hour

Position Description:
The Guest Experience Manager will supervise and execute all aspects of the museum floor operations with a primary focus on the ticketing and guest services functions. This customer-focused position must ensure that all of the areas perform successfully, meeting the operational, professional, and customer standards of the museum to deliver a world-class visitor experience. The Guest Experience Manager will also:
Supervise all departmental staff members and assist with any job function when neededSuccessfully oversee the daily operating plan, including management of first aid and lost and found Create a fun, positive, inclusive team environment for all staff membersMonitor departmental standards with a focus on delivering a World Class Visitor ExperienceManage and evaluate staff performance Be responsible for staffing; including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and trainingAssist with customer service training and reward and recognition programs for all front line staffAssign and adjust staff members on the daily schedule to cover the museum based upon the days business pressuresEstablish a significant presence on the floor to ensure all areas are operating successfully and that the staff members are having funEnsure the security of all revenue collected through the ticketing area by observing established theft deterrence measuresExecute the daily box office cash out including verifying all vouchers and couponsBe responsible for safe reconciliation and ordering operating funds as neededPosition Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience managing staff in a sales and customer service setting are requiredProven success operating within a high-volume ticketed venue or visitor facing organizationExperience coaching, motivating, and monitoring staff members in a fun, energetic environmentMust be able to stand and walk for long periods of timeAbility to handle multiple tasks, make decisions and work in a busy environmentOutgoing, positive, and team-oriented personalityStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent Oral communication skillsStatus: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (work schedule subject to change based upon business needs and attendance; must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays)
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
