We're looking for an experienced Retail Meat Market Manager to lead our team and help drive the continued success of our market.
Position Overview
The Meat Market Manager oversees daily operations of the retail meat department, ensures high product quality, maintains excellent customer service standards, and leads a small team of cutters and counter staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, hands-on meat cutting experience, and solid knowledge of retail merchandising and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the retail meat market, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory control
Cut, trim, prepare, and package meat products according to store standards
Ensure proper rotation, freshness, and display of all products
Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Provide outstanding customer service and assist customers with product selection and special orders
Train, mentor, and supervise team members
Monitor sales, control shrink, and meet department budget goals
Work with ownership/management to plan promotions, specials, and merchandising strategies
Qualifications
3+ years of retail meat cutting experience required
Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation, and merchandising
Ability to work in a cold environment and lift up to 50 lbs
Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
Reliable, organized, and motivated with a strong work ethic
Pay: $45,115.04 - $60,719.19 per year
