Position Summary:
The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a Vice President of Education Services to serve as a strategic and operational leader. This executive role is responsible for the administrative oversight of our school while designing, expanding, and overseeing the development of our partnerships with schools throughout Connecticut.
The VP of Education Services will be the primary architect of regional partnerships, working closely with school districts, state agencies, and community providers to implement life-changing support for children and teens implementing school-linked services.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the intersection between behavioral health and schools, with a passion for growing and developing programs and services.
Working within a continuum-of-care model, the VP of Education Services will advance TCCOH’s Whitney Hall School for students whose emotional and behavioral challenges have disrupted learning. Our campus programs include an array of outpatient behavioral health services and substance use services.
The Vice President of Education Services working closely with and supervising the Principal of Whitney Hall School, establishes goals and develops policies and procedures for educational programming ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies. The Vice President of Education Services works as a collaborative member of the Senior Management team of The Children’s Center of Hamden and reports to the CEO.
This individual shall be aware of and sensitive to the cultural diversity of the client population served.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development
Regional Collaboration: Cultivate and maintain partnerships across the State and the Greater New Haven region with K-12 school districts, State of Connecticut agencies (DCF, CSDE, etc.), and local community health providers.Funding & Sustainability: Identify and engage with private foundations and public funding sources to secure resources to develop and expand innovative service models.Community Integration: Act as the primary liaison between The Children’s Center and the local educational ecosystem to ensure a seamless continuum of care for youth.Program Design & Innovation
Work collaboratively with our clinical team to:
Early Detection & Care: to develop school-based screening and early-intervention programs to identify behavioral health needs before they escalate.Specialized Interventions: Coordinate the implementation of evidence-based solutions for:Behavioral Support Solutions: Tiered interventions for classroom and school-wide settings.School Avoidance & Chronic Absenteeism: Comprehensive strategies to re-engage students and address the clinical roots of attendance issues.Crisis Response & Re-Entry: Protocol development for managing acute crises and supporting students as they transition from clinical or residential settings back into the classroom.Operational Oversight
Program Management: Provide executive leadership to existing educational partnerships, ensuring all programs meet clinical, educational, and budgetary benchmarks.Quality Improvement: Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of school-based services and use data to drive program enhancements.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all educational services comply with state education laws, special education regulations (IDEA), and healthcare privacy standards (HIPAA/FERPA).Qualifications

What You'll DoAs Supervisor of Special Education, you will:
Provide leadership and oversight for educational programming, special education services, and instructional quality at Whitney Hall School.
Ensure compliance with Connecticut State Department of Education requirements and all applicable special education regulations.
Supervise, support, evaluate, and develop certified and non-certified educational staff.
Participate in recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management activities.

What You’ll DoAs Lead Accountant, you will:
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly close activities, including journal entries, allocations, depreciation, and bank reconciliations.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve discrepancies related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other financial transactions.

What You'll Do
As the Director of Outpatient Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Use Programs, ensuring effective service delivery, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client care. Responsibilities include:
• Leading, supervising, and developing outpatient clinical staff, supervisors, interns, and support personnel.

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
• Current Clinical Licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPC) in the State of Connecticut.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical leadership experience in behavioral health, outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, or related human services settings.
• Specialized training and experience in child psychopathology and developmental psychology.
• Working knowledge of DSM-5 and the ability to support therapeutic interventions across individual, family, and group treatment modalities.
• Strong leadership, organizational, operational, and communication skills.

Develop and implement a comprehensive Clinical Standards Manual establishing organization-wide expectations for assessment, treatment planning, care coordination, discharge planning, crisis response, documentation, and clinical supervision.Design and launch a standardized Clinical Supervision Model that defines supervision requirements, competencies, accountability measures, and support structures for clinical staff and leaders across all programs.Establish a formal Clinical Risk Review Process in partnership with Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Operating Officer, and program leadership to identify, monitor, and mitigate clinical risks while promoting continuous quality improvement.Develop and implement Care Coordination Standards that define roles, communication expectations, transition planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure consistent, integrated, and person-centered care across the organization.

What You’ll Do
As a BCBA, you will:

What You’ll Do
As the Milieu Manager, you will work closely with the Program Manager to oversee daily program operations and ensure a safe, structured, trauma-informed therapeutic environment. Your responsibilities include:
