Caton Construction Group, one of the Caton Companies, is growing! Our family owned company is seeking an experienced Pipe/Utility Foreman for our Bridge & Roadway Project in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Summary/Objective
The Pipe/Utility Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform construction activities. The Foreman works under the general direction of the Superintendent. Must also be an experienced heavy equipment operator.
Essential Functions
· Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans.
· Plan, organize and lead grading crew.
· Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
· Allocating general and daily responsibilities.
· Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
· Schedule aggregate material quantities and deliveries. Determine trucking needs and schedule truck.
· Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
· Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.
· Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.
· Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
· Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
· Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
· Resolve problems when they arise.
· Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel/ Driving
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Driver’s license is required.
Supervisory Responsibility
Assigning work to subordinates, as well as establishing deadlines and modifying work schedules to meet deadlines as needed
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proven experience as construction foreman
· diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.

Summary/Objective

Essential Functions
1. Physically walk the property on a frequent basis and remove litter, debris, and pet droppings from the grounds. Maintain cleanliness of all common areas, sidewalks, and adjacent to the road, and in front of office.
Perform "trash-out" duties at vacated apartments on a daily basis. Remove all abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes. Transfer to dumpster or storage area, whichever is applicable.3. Notify manager of any diseased, dying or dead landscape plantings.
4. Be aware of chemical or fertilizing postings and signs.
5. Clean property on regular basis. Rake, trim shrubs, shovel mud, when necessary.
6.Check and replace exterior lighting on a regular basis.
Clean and maintain pool as directed. Perform routine maintenance on property as requested. Clean and sweep dumpster areas and all outdoor recreational areas. Transfer trash and other items left outside of dumpster into dumpster. Use blower to keep sidewalks, curbs and walking areas clear of loose grass and brush. Shovel snow, plow and salt or use ice melt, as needed. Adhere to company / site specific snow policy.Clean all common areas.Maintain awareness of proper safety precautions at all times. Be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, sewer cleanouts.Wear support belt and use safety equipment (goggles, masks and gloves, etc.) as tasks dictate.Pressure wash sidewalks, driveways and garages as needed.Assist with "make-ready" duties when requested. Distribute resident communications, i.e. upcoming events, pest control notices, newsletters, etc. Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Summary/Objective
Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue. Responsible for the lay out, assembly and installation of large drain pipe including: Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP), Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB), and Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) on company projects.
Job Responsibilities
• Configure pipe routes.
• Align pipes in pipeline sections.
• Dig trenches with trenching tools.
• Slide pipe into trenches.
• Tell tractor driver where to move pipe in preparation for welding.
• Insert spaces in between pipes.
• Pull out defective or misaligned pipes.
• Correct alignments with sledgehammers.
• Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications.
• Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
• Grade trenches or culverts.
• Seal joints.
• Use glue or welding equipment to ensure pipes are tightly fitted.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes with dirt or other material.
• Drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines.
• Perform continual maintenance on pipes and replace those needing repair.
• Utilize magnetic or radio indicators.
