    Employed position in an outpatient setting. Part-time to start with for the first 3-6 months, with an opportunity to convert to full time position.

    Provider will see patients in an established clinic 2-3 days per week, with a requirement to cover for other provider(s).

    Patient populations:

    Mix of different ages, 18 and up, with at least 60% geriatric population.

    Job DescriptionJob Description

    The Beloved Medicine Clinic is seeking a dedicated and versatile Medical Assistant to support our team in both administrative and clinical capacities. This role is essential for maintaining smooth clinic operations and providing high-quality care to our patients.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Clinical Responsibilities (Back Office)

    Prepare examination rooms to ensure cleanliness, stock, and readiness for patient visits.

    Obtain and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, BMI, and pain scale.

    Obtain and accurately document patient history, current medications, allergies, and chief complaints within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

    Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures, examinations, injections, and wound care.

    Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a provider and in accordance with established clinic protocols.

    Maintain rigorous infection control practices and strictly follow OSHA/HIPAA guidelines.

    Address patient phone calls and portal messages regarding clinical questions, prescription refills, or test results under the direction of the provider.

    Manage medical supplies inventory to ensure the clinic is always fully equipped.

    Administrative Responsibilities (Front Office)

    Patient Reception: Greet patients upon arrival, verify personal and insurance information, and upload necessary patient documents.

    Appointment Scheduling: Manage and schedule patient appointments, ensuring proper time allocation to minimize conflicts and wait times.

    Insurance & Billing: Verify patient insurance eligibility, collect co-pays and deductibles, and assist with billing inquiries and accurate coding.

    Communication: Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate staff members promptly.

    Records Management: Update and maintain patient records to ensure all information is current, accurate, and organized.

    Clinic Coordination: Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient patient flow and maintain a clean, organized front desk area.

    Job Requirements

    Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A certificate or degree in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field is highly preferred.

    Experience: Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is a plus.

    Technical Skills: Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.

    Certifications: Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) is desirable but not always required.

    Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare insurance processes.
