Job DescriptionOverview
A leading acute care hospital in Hermitage, TN is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist to join its cardiovascular and interventional radiology team. This role involves supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral, and electrophysiology procedures while ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Assist interventional physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies.
Scrub and circulate in the Special Procedures/Cath Lab/EP Lab setting.
Administer contrast media following age- and weight-specific guidelines.
Prepare and maintain sterile trays and sterile fields according to hospital protocols.
Monitor and record hemodynamic measurements, valve area readings, and case data.
Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications safely, and document all procedures.
Properly measure and dispose of radioactive waste in compliance with regulatory requirements.
QualificationsCandidates must have one of the following certifications:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) – CCI
OR ARRT certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)] with relevant training
Additional Requirements:
BLS certification – Required
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire – Required
Minimum 1 year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab – Preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Perform and document procedures using Meditech and PACS systems
Safely manage radioactive materials per regulatory guidelines
QualificationsCertification (one of the following):
RCIS or RCES from CCI (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
OR ARRT [RT(R)] from an accredited radiologic technologist program
BLS (required)
ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
1+ year experience in a Cath or EP Lab preferred
New RCIS graduates encouraged to apply
