    We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant individual for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will educate, treat, and inform patients for their appointment. Potential candidates for this role should be excellent communicators who excel at developing and maintaining patient relationships.

    Work will take place alternately between two locations: 9160 Carothers Parkway Suite 201, Franklin, TN 37067, and 2201 Murphy Avenue Suite 401, Nashville, TN 37203.

    Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with some Saturday and Holiday call rotation 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities include:

    Assisting physician with patient carePrepare patients for exams or treatment including taking patient history, vitals and phlebotomyDocument patient care in the medical records system accurately and in a timely mannerOrganize exam and treatment roomsStock and clean rooms as well as sterilize instrumentsAnswering phones/scheduling appointments as well as general Administrative tasks Maintain electronic patient records

    Skills & Requirements

    Certified Medical Assistant preferred, will consider a diploma and 2 years of experience in lieu of certificationHigh school diploma or GED, required2 or more years of healthcare experience requiredProficiency in keyboarding skills and experience with electronic medical recordsMust be knowledgeable of HIPAA requirements

    Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. with some Saturday call rotation. This is an in-clinic position!

    Responsibilities:

    Physician office nurse duties (clinical, specific and general) assigned to either the Registered/License Practical Nurse, as appropriate and to include clinical back-office flow of patients; rooming patients and assisting the physician with exams and procedures; performing intrauterine insemination proceduresCoordinates patient care with the ART program nurses and RMG IVF- Surgery CenterSchedules IVF patients and coordinates testingProvides IVF counseling and patient instructionsCoordinates care with the Special Services Coordinators for patients participating in the donor programProvides general counseling to infertility patients and spouse/partners regarding testing and clarification of plan of treatment

    Job specifications/requirements:

    Valid Tennessee nursing license (RN) required. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree or higher preferred.RN licensure with one year experience, preferably in fertility or specialized care.Phlebotomy experience, one year.Ultrasonography experience preferred.Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, an FDA compliance.Understanding of basic reproductive physiology.Knowledge of examination, testing, diagnosis, and treatment of reproductive conditions.

    Under general direction of the Laboratory Supervisor or Director, the Embryologist III, performs advanced technical clinical and research duties independently in the embryology laboratory. Interacts directly with physicians and demonstrates ability to use own judgement in making decisions regarding lab procedures. Interfaces with the research and andrology components of the IVF Program to advance Laboratory technologies.

    Hours: Wednesday - Sunday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with occasional Monday if required.

    Essential Responsibilities include demonstrating independent proficiency and competency in performing the following procedures:

    Conducts the full range of basic and advanced Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) laboratory procedures.Conducts serum/media preparation with accuracy and impeccable attention to detail.Conducts sperm preparation for ICSI and for conventional insemination.Performs egg retrievals and cumulus cell removal.Performs both conventional and ICSI inseminations, meeting established percentage goals for fertilization.Completes fertilization checks for conventional insemination and ICSI.Successfully performs embryo grading to select embryos for transfer, meeting goals established by Lab Director, including passing proficiency testing as stated in the SOP.Successfully performs embryo warming and transfers, measured by the pregnancy rate per transfer.Conducts procedures of egg and embryo vitrification with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency is measured by the percentage of recovered eggs/embryos and survival of warmed eggs/embryos.Conduct advanced IVF procedures (including ICSI, embryo biopsy, tubing, oocyte vitrification and oocyte warming)Conduct daily quality control activities. Ensure documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.Ancillary duties as required to maintain a clean and operating laboratory, tank maintenance & monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining equipment, and inventory control.Complies with regulations and laws for human ART in the U.S. and applicable state, adheres to the policies, procedures, and rules of our Company, and assures that work is performed in accordance with American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) standards. Works collaboratively with the Lab Director and lab team to proactively identify evolving “best practices” as well as areas for improvement in laboratory processes and department operations. Meticulously follow detailed laboratory standard operating procedures as well as comply with all safety policies.Meets quality standards and numerical goals for laboratory procedures, as set by the Lab Director.Consults with physicians as needed.Ensures that the laboratory always has appropriate and adequate supplies available for all laboratory procedures and assists with ordering as needed.Other duties as assigned

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Reproductive Biology or Animal Science required.Meet the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirement for the number of Biology and/or Chemistry hours (60 semester hours that include 24 semester hours which must include 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology and 12 hours of a combination of biology, chemistry, or medical laboratory technology in any combination)Meet state specific certifications/licensure requirements, if applicable2-3 years' work experience in an IVF lab, strongly preferred for level II. Successfully completed a minimum of 30 supervised procedures for new skills (30 of each type of procedure)Successfully completed a minimum of 20 independent procedures.
