Introduction Our client is a hospital serving the Kansas City Metro since 1950, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their full-time team. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian with an interest in seeing a diverse caseload including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic species. The position offers the chance to further develop exotic animal medicine skills while working within a well-established practice. Role Description and Responsibilities This role involves the full scope of general practice responsibilities, managing a varied caseload across companion animals and exotics. Duties include providing routine and preventative care, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgery and dentistry, and delivering high-quality patient care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. The schedule consists of a 4-day work week with rotating Saturdays, with no on-call requirements. The hospital is closed on Sundays and all major holidays, supporting a healthy work-life balance. Practice Details The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, including wellness care, preventative medicine, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. The large, modern facility features eight exam rooms, a fully equipped surgical suite, dedicated treatment areas, separate feline, euthanasia, and quarantine spaces, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, IDEXX and Abaxis in-house laboratories, a MidMark Dental Delivery Unit, and VetRec AI notetaking software. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Team The veterinary team currently includes two DVMs supported by a skilled and collaborative support staff that helps maintain an efficient workflow and allows veterinarians to focus on patient care. The practice also offers the opportunity to develop exotic animal skills under the mentorship of a Board-Certified Exotic Companion Mammal Specialist, fostering a supportive learning environment for veterinarians at all stages of their careers.
