Role Description
The Aerospace Painter is a full-time, on-site role based in Pensacola, FL. This position is responsible for preparing, masking, and painting aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Daily tasks include surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, and degreasing), mixing and applying primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings, and ensuring proper curing and finish quality. The role also involves inspecting completed work, performing touch-ups, and documenting work in line with quality and safety requirements. The Aerospace Painter works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to maintain high standards of workmanship and on-time delivery.Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of appropriate education/experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.15+ years specific technical discipline with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs PhD in fields applicable to job.
Experience with integration of avionics systems is required. Understanding of DO-178 and DO-254 process is required. System integration lab and/or aircraft functional testing experience is required. Able to analyze and develop root cause of system functional issues identified in a test lab environment and flight test is required. Experience with IBM DOORS, or equivalent, is desired. Experience with the FAA (Part 25) and EASA certification is desired.

4. Complies with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Uses personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interior.
5. Uses the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.
Additional Functions:
1. Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce, cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques. Perform other duties as assigned.
