    Job Summary

    In support of the CNC Swiss Machining department, the Swiss CNC Lead will lead and assist in projects that improve and enhance the throughput of the Swiss Machining operations and personnel; supporting the technical/engineering efforts required.

    This is a high-profile position that has a direct impact on the technical growth of the department, driving continuous improvement efforts, productivity and efficiency. Key to this role is the ability to see the short-term needs and have the vision of long-term success; as well as effectively interface across all functions and business units to provide prototype support, production support, training and overall high-level performance of the CNC Swiss Department.

    Set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including CNC Swiss style (sliding headstock) lathes, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, etc. Set up simple to complex jobs to machine small diameter, close tolerance parts, including pointed parts. Following standard operating procedures and instructions. Set up and operate secondary equipment and perform any other functions within the department that may be necessary.

    Role and Responsibilities

    The Swiss CNC Lead will perform all tasks, roles and responsibilities of the Swiss CNC Operator II & Swiss CNC Operator III.Provide leadership and direction to all department personnel. Including machine assignments, scheduling and technical support for technical and machine related matters.Provide front line leadership and management to the department personnel and work in unison with the department supervisor’s handling.Direct interface with support groups is needed to address engineering, quality and materials matters in a timely fashion to meet department objectives and in the best interest of customers.Keep scheduling and Shop Floorboards up to date, coordinating department communications within shift and across shifts within department.In the absence of the Supervisor provide directions and actions as needed.Communicate with co-workers, members of other shifts, technical leader, team leader and/or supervisor to transfer and receive instructions and information.Engage in strategic efforts in unison with the Swiss team, across various functions within organization where needed in a collaborative team-based environment. Assist with proof-outs and suggestions to improve processes as well as processes that are unproven.Be a primary resource in the development of department personnel including but not limited to Apprentices, Operators etc.

    Qualifications

    Experience operating Citizen, Star, Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes desired or other CNC Turning Centers or CNC equipment. Experience in medical device manufacturing, aerospace, machinery, and metals are desired. Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, specifications and quality plans and have strong oral and written communication skills. Follow written and verbal instructions and capable of meeting deadlines. Good manual dexterity and ability to use measurement and inspection tools. Good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude are required as well as an ability, desire and flexibility to perform a variety of machining operations and other functions within manufacturing as needed.

    Education Requirements

    H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining or engineering discipline is a plus. 5 to 7 years’ experience in a small device manufacturing environment as a CNC Machining Setup Operator or Technical Lead is preferred.

    Job Summary

    The purpose of the Inspector–I role is to perform visual inspections in order to identify conforming and nonconforming product within the Tegra Medical location.


    Role and Responsibilities

    Responsible for QC Visual Inspections of finished products required in accordance with ISO 13485.Accurately perform visual inspection determine acceptability of product from visual defects and other overall cosmetic requirements.Follow specific internal and customer specifications to determine product conformance.Act as a trainer for other Inspector–I employees.Complete inspection reports and product traveler as required.Keep track of quantities and scrap codes and enter data into MRP system as applicable.Provide feedback to supervisors and engineering on visual defects found.Support visual inspection of validation activities as requested.


    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    A degree in Engineering and at least 5 years engineering experience in a medical device-manufacturing environment is required. Must have experience with Class II & Class III finished medical devices. Experience with packaging, sterilization, and exposure to clean room injection and insert molding. Should have experience in managing product and process developments as well as the ability to lead programs that involve manufacture of medical components and devices. Must possess a pro-active attitude and provide leadership and project management to a cross-functional team and assist in directing them in achieving assigned goals and objectives. Must be a self-motivated, hands-on individual with a strong sense of urgency and passion for the customer. Must have the ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments as well as have a keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills.

    Excellent written, oral and verbal communication English skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Project and CAD software preferred. Experience with ISO 13485 standard and/or FDA Quality System Regulations is a must.

    Performs a variety of complex hand based manufacturing, assembly, and / or packaging operations in an ISO controlled environment space (clean room). Performs in-process inspections and documents results. Collects manufacturing data and enters it into various computer systems. Reads and follows work instructions and performs operations autonomously and / or under direct supervision.

    Role and Responsibilities

    Ability to use inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparator, etc.).Maintains a high standard of work quality.Performs first piece and In-process inspection(s).Keeps record of all inspections and parts run.Strive to maximize efficiency and improve quality.Perform ERP system transactions.Flexible with the ability to change job priorities as instructed.Comfortable with cross-functional tasks to support a continuously improving environment.Assemble and/or package complex medical devices and components.Measure and record complex part dimensions.Enter and/or create hand written and computerized data into various systems.Able to perform all level I tasks.Assist with training new staff as directed.Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Ability to work with small diameter parts requiring tight tolerances and high quality finishes.Ability to read blueprints/drawings and follow work instructionsHave good mechanical and math aptitude2-3 years’ industrial experience in manufacturing/machine operating is preferred.Good communication skills.Dependable, efficient and productive work habitsGood problem solving skills

    Education Requirements

    High School diploma or GED, or graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining
