    JOB SUMMARY:



    Responsible for supporting the day-to-day flow of operational responsibilities for a set of Caterpillar 650kW diesel generators producing medium voltage (4160). Serves as a Field Service Representative for our client, supporting our customers missions. Must be skilled with the broad range of mechanical, electrical and control issues involved in larger diesel engine driven generator operations. Will serve as the primary point of contact for all troubleshooting and repairs required on the power generations equipment outside of the regular scheduled maintenance. Technical ability to lead and guide the equipment operators in the operation, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, setup and teardown of sophisticated mobile generators and associated equipment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



    Provide support as part of an integrated team for a US Army THAAD Fire Unit; embedded with the military component to augment the skills of the soldier operators/maintainers who will provide primary field support for the power generation and distribution equipment.Provide support to the soldier operator/maintainer for maintenance and repairs to the Prime Power Unit (PPU) and power distribution equipment while located at locations outside the United States.May be required to provide 24-hour technical support to the Power Systems Manager via a Company issued mobile phone.Will be responsible for assisting the equipment operators with maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of the power generation equipment as required.Primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair any/all faults, failures, and issues with the power generation equipment outside of regular scheduled maintenance that cannot be resolved by the equipment operators.Serve as the Field Service Representative to guide the operator/maintainers in the event operations or maintenance tasks fall outside the instructions/procedures contained within the Army TM 9-1430-610-13.Support the operator/maintainers in the performance of the tasks listed and shall complete any service/repair that is not detailed in TM9-1430-610-13:Operations in accordance with the directed Concept of Operations (usually 40 hr/wk)System emplacement and power upHealth and status monitoringPreventative maintenanceScheduled maintenanceEmergency maintenanceService and FuelingResponsible for maintaining the PPU tool kit, ensuring all special test equipment are properly calibrated and all tools are accounted for.Will deploy with the assigned team for both local and international assignments to provide support as the PPU Field Service Representative. Assignments could last anywhere from a few weeks to 12 months at a minimum. Must be ready to deploy within 36 hours of being notified.If within the United States, the technician must be able to report to the worksite within 1 hour of being called in the event of an emergency.Without direct supervision, solve practical problems with a variety of variables; trouble shoot and repair equipment malfunctions, within limits of competence in the affected area. For problems beyond your area of specific competence, site and TDX management or assigned backups in specialized areas to be notified immediately after securing effective equipment or systems and ensuring safety of all personnel in proximity.On generating sites, readings of all instrumentation indicating KWH produced, fuel consumed, voltage, HZ and current at given intervals, usually every two hours. Further readings to support or backup automatic data logging devices will be determined by the site supervision.Comply with all required environmental health and safety programs.Be available as needed, to support operations issues that may arise, unless specific approval has been given by supervision to be out of range of the operations location.Work extended work schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.Perform other duties as assigned.



    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School diploma or equivalent.Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience with diesel engine driven generatorsAble to successfully complete the Armys Soldier Readiness Program and be declared DEPLOYABLE by the Deployment Medical OfficerWorking knowledge of power plant generation systems. UPS systems, high, medium and low voltage distribution systems, control circuitry, control logic, automatic and manual transfer systems, general operating, troubleshooting and repair techniques are required.Extensive working knowledge of principles of diesel generation operations to include, but not limited to, electrical controls, electrical connections, electrical safety, engine operation, maintenance, and repair, testing and troubleshooting of generators, switchgear and other power plant equipment, use of all common trade tools, instrumentation and test equipment as required.Experience in using computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.Read and interpret schematics and one-line diagrams.Interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Qualified to operate a forklift, loader, and standard truck.Broad knowledge in maintenance methods, practices, schedules, logistics.A valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing is required.International travel requires a valid US passport.Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.



    COMPETENCIES:

    Computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems.Strong technical (mechanical/electrical) and organizational skills.Excellent communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.Capable of functioning independently and undertake various technical roles when required.Able to multi-task.

    Compensation:

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

    Required:

    5+ years of experience in telecommunications project management, estimating, or construction management within ISP/OSP, fiber optic, structured cabling, or utility infrastructure projects.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain within 8 months of hire.Demonstrated experience managing projects from planning through closeout, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.Strong knowledge of ISP/OSP construction methods, fiber optic systems, and field installation practices.Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.Experience preparing or supporting project estimates, bids, and material/labor takeoffs.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Interpret customer specifications for design work.Create project documentation including CAD drawings, test procedures and operating manuals.Develop PLC programs: Emerson, Allen-Bradley, Modicon.Create HMI graphic screens: Machine Edition, Panelview, Cimplicity, Ignition.Use industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC.Perform programming checkout and troubleshooting system components on-site.

    The Technician position is an entry level position with the potential to learn a unique and custom trade in the field of Power Systems Controls, Engineering, and computer technologies. Power is everywhere and not going away anytime soon. Willingness and Desire are necessary to grow in an area of expertise that very few people are aware of and involved in. Potential for advancement and financial gain is ever present. Some of the key duties required are as follows.

    The Technician will be responsible for participating in the day-to-day shop functions and occasional field operations. The Technician may be responsible for drafting reports and memos for management as trained and instructed to do so. The Technician will be trained and eventually responsible for equipment installation, service, maintenance, repair, and wiring of the TDXGS custom control systems and associated equipment. The Technician will be required to learn analytical and critical thinking to solve simple to complex electrical and control problems trained to use a variety of sophisticated testing equipment. The Technician will eventually be responsible to ensure all electrical work in house and on project sites is done in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and IEEE standards as instructed by their immediate supervision. The Technician must become familiar with and execute best workplace safety practices in accordance with OSHA and NFPA standards. Training in these areas will be provided. The Technician will be trained to assist engineers with and perform control wiring on a multitude of control systems. This will include various phases of installation of switchgear and controls on project sites. Training willeventually be provided at the appropriate windows to learn programming of PLCs and other controllerequipment utilized in our systems.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Work standard 8-hour shifts when in the shop.Work 10-12-hour shifts on project sites as needed, which will be determined by SiteLead, to provide 24 hours support for site.In time learn to perform all troubleshooting, fault analysis, fault mitigation, and repair tasks on our specialized equipment.Travel to remote locations with very little notice at times. Expenses are covered door to door, and on some projects extra income is acquired.Able to work out of state or country for extended amounts of time.Learn to work with minimal supervision or direction to solve problems with a varietyof variables; troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions. Must exhibit critical thinking introubleshooting and repairs.Comply with all required environmental health and safety programs.Be available as needed, to support operational issues that may arise.Work extended work schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all local area government rules and regulations.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    High School diploma or equivalent.     Summary

    Oversight of the continual improvement of the project health and safety program, systems, and processes that meet or exceed the company/project objectives.     Performs new-hire orientation and training.
    Ensure proper employee, company, and subcontractor certifications are obtained and maintained.

    Maintain and repair electrical underground distribution equipment such as substations, switches, capacitors, transformers, concrete foundations; installs electrical cable in ducts or direct burial; installs cable risers; splices and terminates non-leaded high voltage cables; performs substation construction such as installation of structures, switches, insulators, buses, foundations and associated equipment.
    Maintain and repair all overhead distribution equipment to include cabling, transformers, and all associated overhead distribution.
    When needed, climb poles to perform needed repairs, utilizing proper climbing practices and safety procedures.
    Perform installation design and construction of new services or distribution system projects.
    Perform general electrical maintenance on customer services, must be able to wire and install meter bases, and perform maintenance and testing for customers residential and commercial electrical service.
    Operate heavy equipment and bucket truck as necessary to perform needed repairs to distribution system.
    Advise of any system changes and provide the necessary paperwork required to document changes, provide recommendations for upgrades, repair, and system modifications.
    Perform inspections on customer installed new services as needed.
    Perform line locates as necessary.
    Assist in maintaining site inventory lists and the requisitions supplies, materials, and repair parts for projects.
    Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electrical components and systems.
    Provide wiring diagrams, specifications, instructions and supervision during emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work being performed.
    Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
    Follow National Electric Safety Code and all other regulatory requirements.
    Without direct supervision, solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
    Manage emergencies and special support work, such as utility outages and/or any special event(s).
    Perform meter reading duties as necessary.
    Comply with all required environmental, health, and safety programs.
    Act in the role of public relations and serve as a point of contact for customers.
    Assure all consumer complaints are handled in a professional manner that best serves TDX Power.
    Secondary to primary responsibilities, may be required to assist plant operator with maintenance of power plant facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
    Perform other duties as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum 3 years work in the electrical field as a high school diploma or equivalent; its preferred applicant must have 3-5 years work experience in underground and overhead utility electrical lineman duties.
    Hold a current Journeyman Lineman or Electricians License- State of Alaska fitness certification
    A valid drivers license issued by state of residence and in good standing; CDL license required.
    Ability to successfully read, understand and decipher electrical drawings and schematics to include the symbols, terminology pertaining to distribution drawings and schematics as utilized within the company.
    Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters while performing analysis and repair work
    Experience working in diverse geographical locations, such as remote Alaska. Ability to work extended work schedules, often in unpleasant weather conditions; in and outdoors
    Working knowledge of principles of diesel power generation maintenance and experience in diesel equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
    Hazwoper Response certification preferred.
    Experience in fuel delivery or similar activity, including experience operating commercial vehicles.
    Qualified to operate a forklift, loader, and standard truck.
    Broad knowledge in maintenance methods and practices
    Ability to work extended work schedules as required to support operations.
    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and relationships
    U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status required.
    May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
