An RF Technician III performs technical functions as relates to building, maintaining or repairing RF (coaxial cable) plant. Builds and configures 90v AC plant powering, back up battery systems and carrier small cell radios. Participates in carrier small cell on-call rotation to effect repairs and or system restoration. Provides back up technical support and training to lower tier RF techs.
Must possess a valid AZ driver license with clean recordRequires ability to lift 70 lbs.Competent in critical thinking and problem solvingComfortable using Excel and Adobe softwareRequires attention to detail while following documented instructionComplete commitment to quality while following industry accepted standards and practicesSafely uses basic hand tools, volt meters and other testersBasic understanding of radio frequency (RF) theoryFamiliar with RF design symbology and design mapsUnderstanding of OSP parts and functionalityCapability to assemble and integrate ISP & OSP coax locationsAccustomed to building new and repairing existing coax plantQualified to tie and activate new plantBasic knowledge of system powering; both AC & DC power suppliesProficient in use of RF signal meter and volt ohm meterUnderstands RF signal processing and diplex filteringOperates bucket truck and or aerial man lift; must be comfortable at heightsProven ability to perform retrofit & maintenance window activitiesEfficiently troubleshoot RF & powering issuesEngineers plant changes in field as needed; accurately documents in as-built processOperates spectrum sweep analyzer to achieve final and desired signal responseTrains RF Techs I & II to advance skill sets to improve efficiencyExecutes build, install, integration and activation of wireless carrier small cell (SC) sitesWorks and effectively communicates with carrier SC techniciansEfficaciously troubleshoots and repairs carrier SC sitesFiber Optics experience a plus
