Parts Counter Salesperson Purpose of Position: The Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers and technicians in identify, procure, and invoice parts for heavy-duty trucks. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage parts orders efficiently to support the service department and retail sale. Essential Job Functions: Greet and assist customers at the parts counter, in person and by phone. Identify correct parts through online systems and manufacturer resources. Provide price quotes, availability, and lead times to customers and technicians. Process parts orders, invoices, returns, and exchanges accurately. Maintain knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts, accessories, and industry trends. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors. Other duties may be assigned as listed job duties are not comprehensive and should not be construed as such. This job description is subject to change. Required Skills/ Abilities: Able to work through multiple transactions and/ or interactions simultaneously. Knowledge of Heavy Duty Truck parts Knowledge of Medium Duty Truck parts Basic computer usage and navigation knowledge. Able to speak precisely and clearly. Detailed orientated verbal, written, and observational. Cash Handling and Balancing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and bending. Handling parts, tools, and materials regularly. Places parts in the appropriate area or customer pick-up delivery. Adds Service Department parts to Ro and issues to technician in a timely manner. Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner. Advises the customer on any changes to orders such as substitutions or modifications. Assists in keeping parts area clean and shelves stocked and orderly. Assists in physical stock inventory. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Inventory software. Preferred Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred Experience One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Moving vehicles not currently being serviced and keeping an orderly area so that vehicles can be easily found and moved. Shuttling customers to their homes, places, of business or designated area and then picking them up after their vehicle is serviced in a timely manner.
