    This role supports the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract and currently has an opening for an Azure Software Engineer.

    Location: This position will be hybrid remote. Candidates will be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL.

    Responsibilities:

    We are seeking an Azure Software Engineer that designs, develops, deploys, and maintains cloud-native applications and services using Microsoft Azure platform tools. They utilize services like Azure App Services, Kubernetes, and Cosmos DB to build scalable, secure, and efficient solutions, often managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines for deployment.

    Design and implement moderately complex software features within established system architecturesDevelop and maintain services, APIs, and supporting components using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or TypeScriptWrite and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure correctness, reliability, and maintainabilityParticipate actively in code reviews, incorporating feedback and contributing constructive input to peers
    AI-Enabled Capabilities (Feature-Level Execution)Implement AI-enabled features using defined tools, frameworks, and patterns, such as:API-based AI integrationsPrompt-driven or workflow-based AI featuresRetrieval- or data-assisted application componentsValidate AI-assisted behavior using established testing and review processesApply defined AI safety, governance, and review practicesCloud & Platform ContributionsContribute to applications deployed in cloud-native environmentsDevelop and support containerized services and CI/CD pipelinesTroubleshoot and resolve routine application-level and service-level issuesCollaborate with platform and infrastructure teams when deeper system changes are requiredCollaboration & Professional PracticeWork as part of an agile delivery team, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineersParticipate in design discussions related to features or subsystemsProvide informal technical support to less-experienced engineersDemonstrate accountability for assigned features from development through deployment

    Requirements

    Bachelors and 2+ years or more of experienceAdditional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Active Secret clearance required US citizenship required Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, TypeScript)Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs or service-based architecturesExperience using Git and standard version control workflowsWorking knowledge of software testing practices and CI/CD pipelinesAbility to work independently on defined tasks and features with minimal supervisionStrong written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with USAF Cloud One or Platform 1 Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture. Experience a plus. Exposure to AI/ML or LLM-based systems through professional experience, projects, or courseworkFamiliarity with one or more of the following:Containers (Docker)Kubernetes conceptsCloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience contributing to systems operating in regulated, secure, or high-reliability environmentsInterest in developer tools, platform engineering, or software modernization
