    At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, MD, SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department. We are currently looking to hire a Supply Technician to perform technical supply management in a fast-paced environment.


    In this role, you'll perform limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.


    The following are typical job functions but other duties may also be assigned:

    Work within the branch Material Control Center and use, maintain, and possibly improve our proprietary inventory control tool to manage all branch procurements, material tracking, ordering, hardware inventory, and material stock. This would include Fabrication and Structures hardware, supplies, sheet metal, gauges, HAZMAT and other needed items.Have full responsibility for MIB metal inventory and hardware inventory.Stand up a Ready Issue Annex in MIB spaces.Maintain database and inventory to manage high/low levels.Submit procurements for approval to maintain sufficient stock.Interface with design engineers and check future designs part lists with current stock levels and availability - submit procurements for items that are low or not in stock.Receive stock from supply and distribute/restock as necessary.Maintain MIB forms and documents as well as assist Section Head and Branch Head with tracking expenditures and branch costs.Review requisitions for completeness and accuracy; follow up on discrepancies with the initiating department; identify available suppliers for each requisitioned item.Organize and maintain computerized records containing vendor and bid information. Organize bids for review by the specialist.Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments as requested; respond to inquiries. Correspond with vendors regarding prices, product availability, and delivery.Respond to inquiries from staff regarding requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and pricing information.Will use Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

    Work Conditions:

    Conditions will vary but most work will be performed in enclosed buildings and will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Must be capable of lifting 50 unassisted and 50-100 lbs. assisted by others.Working hours are 0530 to 1500 or 0600-1530. Sometimes there will be a need to work flex working hours or overtime.Some of the tasks my require the use of Hazardous chemicals and perform work in a noisy environment.Requirements:

    Education/Experience/Skills:

    SA-TECH has supported instrumentation efforts of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Prototyping, Instrumentation, and Experimentation (PIE) Group and the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Airborne Instrumentation Systems Division (AISD) since September 2015. Our support encompasses the full spectrum of instrumentation from design (engineering and drafting) to fabrication and installation, to the day-to-day support (calibration, pre-flight support for Test/Evaluation, post-flight support). The breadth of customers that we support ranges from U.S. DoD and partner nations to the occasional support of commercial projects for industry partners as well as the entertainment industry. Work is performed at three geographically separate locations: Patuxent River, Maryland; China Lake, California; and Point Mugu, California.


    SA-TECH is currently looking to hire a Project Analyst to support the Mechanical Instrumentation Branch (MIB) for our facility at NAS Patuxent River, MD.


    In this role, you will (among other duties):

    Coordinate project reviews with project leads and the branch head.Manage the project high-level schedules with detailed project data for reporting and providing historical data.Create a Master Project Schedule for the branch from individual high level schedules.Create and pull customized branch reports from SharePoint.Update the Project Status Metrics page in SharePoint weekly.Ensure SharePoint project information pages are maintained with status updates, project phase changes, documentation, etc.Track project funding with Business Finance Managers, using Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP).Compile documentation and create Technical Data Packages (TDPs).Assist project leads with compiling data and creating PowerPoint presentations for the Project Management Board (PMB).Enables AID leadership to brief higher levels of leadership.

    SA-TECH is currently hiring a Ground Support Equipment Servicer to diagnose, repair and maintain ground support equipment (GSE) for our classified program at the Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA.


    Our GSE Servicer will perform, under direct and indirect supervision, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on GSE. Our Servicer will diagnose all system components (including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical) in order to repair or replace faulty parts, as indicated by required testing or visual observations and guided by technical manuals. You will use automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records and document all maintenance actions.


    Other duties/requirements include (but are not limited to):

    The basic duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

    Manages/leads a variety of instrumentation and wiring projects for VX-23.Performs fabrication, installation and operational support of instrumentation systems and wiring harnesses on various aircraft and test articles.This position utilizes wiring diagrams and technical information provided by engineers and senior technicians to independently fabricate the instrumentation system racks and wiring harnesses, including installation.Performs pre-flight and post-flight operational checks on instrumentation systems prior to, and following, test flights.Provides support during aircraft measurement calibrations as required.Work assigned at this level is typically more complex and of larger scope requiring coordination of multiple instrumentation engineering technicians working on multiple large-scale tasks.Pre-flight, post-flight FA-18 and EA-18G platforms, as well as flight test pods and ground support equipment (test carts, DRODI vans).Wire various instrumentation packages.Wire various platforms; follow VX-23 and AID processes and procedures.Aid the instrumentation operations engineers by maintaining, installing, calibrating, testing and troubleshooting FA-18 and EA-18G instrumentation systems.Support on-aircraft ground testing.Perform instrumentation pre-flights, post-flights and test flight support (including loading and removing data cartridges and delivering them to data processing).Some testing may be done at other test facilities and carriers, so up to 50% travel is required.Perform work in the Instrumentation Lab (troubleshooting, installing and checking out instrumentation systems).Conform to AVMI and LM FOD and tool control policies and all facets of security (physical, Automated Information System (AIS), document control, Communications Security (COMSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), and security education requirements) as well as instrumentation quality assurance inspections.

    SA-TECH is currently looking to hire an RF Engineer with experience in measuring antenna gain and Radar Cross Section (RCS) for our research & development efforts at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA.


    In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate data collection, processing, reporting, and presenting of antenna gain and RCS data. You will also have the opportunity to formulate and execute new and improved concepts, theories, and techniques of advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms.


    Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: DSP, digital filtering, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) data processing, image editing and reconstruction (IER), and statistical signal processing.


    This position may require infrequent travel to various sites within the Continental US (CONUS).

Performs tests and experiments on data acquisition systems to provide and improve existing systems, and to lay the groundwork for future engineering information on which new system selection can be based. Investigates new and innovative applications of components to systems, modifies systems or components to improve performance, and manages data acquisition equipment inventory as applicable to the requirements of the larger number of users and variety of programs that are supported by the AID.May represents the division in instrumentation planning meetings with engineers, contractor instrumentation and project engineers, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM), and other government agencies' technical personnel. Will occasionally be required to travel to other government installations and contractor's plants to attend conferences and to conduct tests facilities other than those at NAWCAD. Will be required to work with government personnel in checking performance and calibrations on advanced instrumentation systems. May be asked to propose special tests where appropriate to ensure correct performance of the instrumentation. Other duties as needed.

    Education/Experience/Skills:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.Additional training (current enrollment) technical school, trade school, advanced armed services technical school, or courses at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum desired but not required.A total of five (5) years as an instrumentation technician is required for Level III; individuals with less experience may be considered for lesser levels.Additionally, candidates with 1-3 years of IT experience with a focus on software deployment are preferred.Familiarity with the Authority to Operate (ATO) process in federal or regulated environments is highly desirable.Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and best practices.Proficiency with Windows and Linux-based systems is desired but not required). Possess current soldering certification (J-STD) as well as experience in bench testing/diagnostics/test procedure writing (highly desired).Practical knowledge of basic electricity and electronics, aviation maintenance fundamentals, practices and procedures, substantial knowledge of project planning, scheduling and cost estimating are required.Should be familiar with, and is responsible to follow all applicable TSOPs (Technical Standard Operating Procedures) and NAMP (Naval Aviation Maintenance Program).Ability to read and communicate clear and precise written or verbal instructions.Technical ability to utilize electrical and electronic troubleshooting tools such as, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, watt-meters, resistance decade boxes, electrical substitution and simulation devices, time domain reflectometers, spectrum analyzers. Incumbent must have the ability to work with hand tools, torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, crimp tools, heat guns, soldering irons.Ability to read, interpret, and manufacture electrical and electronic schematics and drawings utilizing computer aided drafting software.Substantial knowledge of tool inventory, and aircraft configuration and control, practices, policies and procedures.Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

    This technician will perform general engineering support functions for wiring, sheet metal, electronics, drafting, instrumentation, structures, or machining disciplines and will assist more senior Engineering Techs and Engineers on projects by gathering materials and equipment from source locations and delivering to work/test locations and returning items to proper locations. The Technician must demonstrate the ability to perform a practical application of tools and techniques to assigned duties and will receive technical guidance from a supervisor or higher level-technicians. The technician’s work is reviewed at initiation for proper technique, and monitored for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. You may also be asked to provide visitor control support as needed.


    In this role, you will perform one or a combination of such typical duties as:

    Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.Performing simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests, operating and adjusting simple test equipment, recording test data.Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.Conducting computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas, plotting data and drawing simple curves and graphs.
