    About the Role:

    The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and administrative tasks within a medical facility. This position involves direct patient interaction, including preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures such as phlebotomy and specimen collection. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment by properly sterilizing instruments and managing medical supplies. Additionally, this role requires effective communication skills to answer phones, schedule appointments, and coordinate with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare staff. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to delivering high-quality patient care and enhancing the overall efficiency of the healthcare team.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques.Basic knowledge of medical instruments and sterilization procedures.Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working alongside Nurse Practitioners or in a similar clinical setting.Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.Experience in patient scheduling and front office administrative tasks.Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.

    Responsibilities:

    Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during medical procedures and examinations.Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples accurately and safely for laboratory testing.Process and label specimens following established protocols to ensure proper handling and testing.Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment to prevent infection.Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and manage front-desk administrative duties as needed.Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.
