    We have an immediate need for three (3) Primary Care Physicians (Internal Medicine or Family Practice) in Canandaigua, NY to provide outpatient medical services for our veteran population. This role offers a flexible assignment with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while experiencing Upstate New York s rich natural landscapes and beauty.

    Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice and be Board Certified / Board Eligible.

    Credentialling and onboarding takes 4-6 weeks

    Responsibilities:

    Patient load is approximately 12-13 patients per day (a mix of acute, new and routine assessments).

    Complete all documentation and close all patient encounters in a timely manner, by the end of shift, utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS)

    Order and monitor the results of diagnostic testing, notifying or directing the notification of patients regarding test results. Results requiring action are communicated to patients no later than 7 calendar days from the date on which the results are made available to the ordering practitioner. For test results that require no action, results must be communicated to patients no later than 14 calendar days from the date on which the results are made available to the ordering provider. Significant abnormalities may require review and communication in a shorter timeframe and 14 days represents the outer acceptable limit. Communication will occur in the appropriate timeframe that minimizes risks to the patient.

    Provide, order and adjust appropriate medication within scope of practice

    Provide and document patient education as clinically needed

    Monitor clinical response to treatment and adjust levels of care as necessary

    Monitor and differentiate patient type of medication effects/side effects

    Perform histories and physical examinations

    Provide ongoing outpatient and/or inpatient care for assigned patients

    Carry out health promotion and disease prevention activities

    Hours & Schedule:

    Business Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (excluding federal holidays).

    Physician shall be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a Urological outpatient clinic daily, seeing patients on consultation and coordinating referral of consultants when necessary. Will make in patient rounds for Urological patients. Will perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer. Will provide basic general urological care. Robotics certified is preferred but not required.

    Physician(s) is expected to be able to perform:

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation

    Intra-operative Care

    Obtain, prepare and use all equipment, monitors, supplies and drugs used for the administration of sedation or anesthesia (general and/or regional techniques)

    Select, obtain, order and administer the anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids and blood products necessary to manage the anesthetic

    Performing all aspects of airway management, including fiber-optic intubation

    Perform and manage central neuraxial anesthetic techniques to include but not limited to subarachnoid, epidural and caudal blocks

    Shall have the ability to be trained to perform and manage peripheral regional anesthetic techniques to include but not limited to upper and lower extremity plexus blocks and/or individual nerve blocks, intravenous regional, airway blocks, and other regional techniques as indicated

    Provide post-anesthesia follow-up and evaluation of the patient's response to anesthesia and surgical experience, taking appropriate corrective action and request consultation when indicated

    Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation

    Conduct post-anesthesia follow-up and evaluation

    QUALIFICATIONS
