About The Role We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (Preadmissions) to join our collaborative team. In this key role, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care before procedures—helping each patient feel confident, informed, and cared for at every step of their surgical journey. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, frequent telephone communication with patients, providers, and other departments, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional nursing care throughout the preadmission phase Assess and review medical clearances and documentation to ensure completeness and suitability for surgery Coordination of preoperative testing Work closely with anesthesia to ensure patient is a surgical candidate Obtain medical clearances and documentation from multiple avenues Interact with patients primarily by phone, occasionally in person, to review preoperative instructions, answer questions, and provide education Educate patients and families regarding procedures, anesthesia recovery, and discharge instructions Collaborate effectively with physicians, patient care coordinators, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to deliver seamless, high-quality care Support pre-admission and clinical preparation as needed; uphold Surgery Partners’ mission, vision, and world-class service standards.
