    Position Purpose

    This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and selling pavement maintenance products and services. This role manages customer accounts throughout the full lifecycle of each project-from initial contact through payment collection-ensuring customer needs are communicated effectively, projects run smoothly, and expectations are met or exceeded.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Note: The essential duties and primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. Incumbents may perform all or most of the primary accountabilities listed below. Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent's performance objectives as outlined by the employee's immediate supervisor or manager.

    Identifies and pursues new business opportunities. This includes generating leads through cold calls, referrals, and trade associations.Develops and maintains strong, long-term relationships with customers, contractors, and industry partners.Identifies and recommends appropriate products/services the customer needs. Prepares and delivers accurate quotes, proposals, and product recommendations.Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts throughout the duration of the relationship. Maintains ongoing open lines of communication with customers.Communicates customer needs, project details, and timelines clearly to the production and operations teams. This includes assisting with job set up, planning and execution, as well as attending pre-construction meetings with customers and production management.Monitors project progress to ensure customer expectations are met and any issues are promptly resolved. Conducts post-project follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.Approves project invoices promptly and collects receivables, when needed, for completed jobs in accordance with company policies and practices.Maintains accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, proposals, and project details in CRM systems.Represents the company at trade shows, industry events, and other networking opportunities.

    Marginal or Additional Functions

    Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or a related field; experience in construction or pavement maintenance industries is a plus.Must possess strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Must possess business acumen, critical thinking, and resiliency in a fast-paced environment.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.Self?motivated, results?oriented, and able to work independently.Proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Travel

    Frequent local travel is required to meet with clients and spend most of the time working in the field.

    Safety

    This is considered a non-safety-sensitive position but is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OSHA regulations.All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.This role is expected to comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as the company's safety policies, enforce safe work practices, and proactively identify and remedy worksite hazards.

    Physical Requirements and Demands

    Work is generally performed in an office environment.

    The Parking Lot Striper works in all aspects of parking lot striping for all paving and asphalt projects for the Division and is a key participant in the relationship with customers, contractors and the public.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront. Must be able to do all aspects of parking lot striping including; striping parking lots and roadways either as new layout, re-stripe or after seal coating or paving, torch-down thermoplastic, buttons and reflectors, signs and various other items. Must work quickly, productively and safely to meet production goals as outlined by the Foreman, Superintendent and/or Production Manager. Follow direction of the Foreman and/or Superintendent with regards to daily production schedule and activities. Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures. Actively participate in job-site and safety meetings and all Company related training. Must be a strong communicator and be in constant contact with the Operators, truck drivers and general laborers. Lead by example and invokes Sunland's core values. Inspect, clean and maintain equipment and machinery. Responsible for reporting problems and malfunction equipment and/or machinery to supervisor and/or shop personnel. May set up and tear down equipment. Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day. Understand material handling and storage in compliance with SDS sheets. Serve as front-line Company representative and must provide excellent service to the customer and to the public. Use equipment and/or an assortment of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc. Perform all other general laborer work as needed. Any and all duties assigned. SAFETY This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations. All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines at all times as an essential part of their job responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to operate vehicles and trailers in a safe manner, in compliance with local, state and federal traffic laws. Must operate equipment, machinery and other tools in compliance with safety guidelines. Must be able to work outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. Must be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in a variety of different situations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL Must be willing to travel to any and all jobsites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary.) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Work Experience A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years related experience in heavy construction preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English. Must meet FMCSA English proficiency requirements under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2), including the ability to read and speak English, understand highway signs, respond to official inquiries, and make required entries on reports and records. To ensure Sunland Asphalt complies with this federal mandate, all 10K-CMV and CDL drivers will be required to complete and pass an English proficiency assessment. Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations A current driver's license.
