Technical duties Troubleshoot hardware and software: Diagnose and fix issues with computer components (like motherboards, screens, and power supplies) and software (like operating systems, applications, and viruses). Install and upgrade: Set up and install new hardware, software, and peripherals. Perform upgrades to firmware, components, and operating systems. Repair and maintain: Disassemble, repair, and reassemble computer hardware. Perform routine maintenance to ensure systems run efficiently and perform necessary security updates and patches. Perform diagnostics: Use diagnostic programs to test system performance, identify failures, and test new software.
