    The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the operational performance of our generation portfolio. This role requires hands-on technical skills in system monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs.

    This role reflects a developing technician who is building technical depth and the ability to work independently across standard O&M activities.

    The role is primarily field based, with approximately 90% travel to project sites and 10% office work.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

    Fosters positive working relationships with internal teams, asset owners, and site stakeholdersCommunicates site issues in a timely and accurate mannerBuilds strong relationships with host facilities and off-taker representatives

    SYSTEM OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

    Works under the supervision of senior technicians and electricians to perform O&M tasksPerforms preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and completes electronic reportsResponds to site outages and performs basic troubleshooting within required response timesSupports corrective repairs including component replacement and system adjustmentsDocuments all service visits through electronic maintenance logs and service reportsAssists with warranty equipment replacements and related documentationSupports inventory management, including receiving and returning equipmentUtilizes monitoring platforms to review system performance, including periodic weekend monitoring

    SAFETY & TRAINING

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Operations & Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for helping to ensure the operational performance of our generation and energy storage asset portfolio.  This position requires a variety of technical and other skills to perform various aspects of solar PV system O&M, including system monitoring, preventative maintenance inspections, troubleshooting and diagnosis, and corrective repairs. This role is part of a career progression series and is marked by increased technical experience and responsibility.

    The O&M Technician II reports directly to the Operations & Maintenance Manager. It is expected that this position will require approximately 10% office work and 90% field work (day travel).

    Responsibilities

    RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENTFosters positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.Fosters a sense of trust and reliability on behalf of all asset owners and/or owner representatives by providing timely and accurate communication about all site issues.Builds strong relationships with host facility staff and off-taker representatives through proactive communication and adherence to all site access guidelines. 
    PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATIONReviews upcoming assigned work orders and prepares needed tools, materials and equipment.Maintains assigned vehicle and tools.Manages personal inventory of consumables (zip ties, wire clips, cleaning materials, etc.)Submits required information to request warranty replacements via manufacturer RMA process.Processes components and parts removed from sites for outbound shipping, inventory or disposalAssists in receiving replacement equipment, facilitating returns, and maintaining a stock of spare parts and equipment.
    SYSTEM OPERATION AND MAINTENANCEPerforms annual preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) as assigned and completes relevant electronic inspection checklists / reports.  Responds to site outages as directed and performs on-site troubleshooting to include documenting as found conditions and performing root cause analysis. Recommends and performs corrective repairs including but not limited to the removal and replacement of system components and other corrective actions as required. Documents all service visits, including annual inspections, assessments, maintenance and other field work. Communicates relevant details in a timely manner via appropriate reporting format. Facilitates warranty equipment replacements by capturing necessary data and filing reimbursement claims in a timely manner. Utilizes monitoring platforms to periodically review the health of all operating assets as assigned.Diagnoses site issues, either remotely or on site, and communicates relevant information via cloud-based ticketing platform (Smartsheet and/or other software systems).
    SAFETY & TRAININGInstills and adheres to the organization’s safety culture. Reports safety observations via electronic safety log and utilizes stop work authority as required.Continuously assesses job-related hazards, implements relevant control measures, and notifies supervisor when work scope is unsafe to perform.
