The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the operational performance of our generation portfolio. This role requires hands-on technical skills in system monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs.
This role reflects a developing technician who is building technical depth and the ability to work independently across standard O&M activities.
The role is primarily field based, with approximately 90% travel to project sites and 10% office work.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Fosters positive working relationships with internal teams, asset owners, and site stakeholdersCommunicates site issues in a timely and accurate mannerBuilds strong relationships with host facilities and off-taker representativesSYSTEM OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Works under the supervision of senior technicians and electricians to perform O&M tasksPerforms preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and completes electronic reportsResponds to site outages and performs basic troubleshooting within required response timesSupports corrective repairs including component replacement and system adjustmentsDocuments all service visits through electronic maintenance logs and service reportsAssists with warranty equipment replacements and related documentationSupports inventory management, including receiving and returning equipmentUtilizes monitoring platforms to review system performance, including periodic weekend monitoringSAFETY & TRAINING
Follows and supports the organization’s safety cultureLogs safety observations and utilizes stop-work authority when necessaryIdentifies jobsite hazards and escalates when work is outside scope or unsafeProperly utilizes PPE in compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E standardsBuilds technical knowledge across solar equipment and systemsMaintains required certifications and equipment operator licensesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of experience with commercial or utility-scale solar PV systemsPREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Assists the O&M Manager with scheduling inspections and repairsDevelops detailed execution plans for assigned work orders, including tools, materials, and site coordinationOwns procurement of materials and parts, including requesting quotes and managing ordersCoordinates with site host representatives to facilitate site accessSubmits required information to request warranty replacements via manufacturer RMA processSYSTEM OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Serves as Team Lead for assigned field work, coordinating crews and ensuring successful executionIndependently performs preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and completes detailed reportingResponds to site outages and performs advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysisLeads and performs corrective repairs, including system component replacement and repair strategyDocuments all service visits and communicates findings in a timely and accurate mannerOwns monitoring responsibilities for assigned assets, including participation in weekend monitoring rotationDiagnoses complex site issues independently, both remotely and onsite, utilizing cloud-based ticketing systemsSAFETY & TRAINING
