  • Summit Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Network/ Tele-Communications Engineer to join our client's team in Washington, DC. The Network / Tele-Communications Engineer's primary responsibilities include designing, deploying, and managing the clients' Network and Cisco Unified Communication systems. The ideal candidate will bring over 8 years of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a results-driven mindset to ensure seamless communication solutions that meet our business goals. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. requiring a minimum on-site work 3 days a week. Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable VoIP solutions, ensuring seamless voice and video communication.
    Manage and maintain Cisco Unified Communications systems (CUCM, Unity Connection, Contact Center, etc.).
    Perform troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and QoS optimization for communication systems.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VoIP systems with data networks.
    Develop automation scripts to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
    Conduct regular system health checks and monitor network performance.
    Maintain Unified Communication architecture diagrams and detailed system documentation.
    Provide technical support, manage special projects, and streamline processes to improve system efficiency. Required Experience: 8 years of experience in Unified Communications, VoIP, and telecommunication systems.
    Proficiency in tools like PowerShell, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
    Strong understanding of Cisco Unified Communication technologies including Cisco Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco UCS, and Cisco Comstice.
    Experience with Calabrio, Stonefax, Microsoft InGenius, and Nuance is a plus.
    Understanding of networking protocols (SIP, WAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, etc.).
    Strong leadership, research, and project management skills with a proven ability to deliver complex solutions. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
    Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CUCM, etc.) and CompTIA Security+ certification.
    Any relevant Unified Communications certifications.
    Microsoft Azure certifications.
    Additional Information: This position requires on-call support for telephony systems and infrastructure.
    The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team to meet organizational objectives.

  • Sr. Unix/Linux Engineer with Security Clearance  

    - Washington

    Summit Technologies, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Senior UNIX Engineer to join our client's team in Washington, DC. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance UNIX-based systems, with a strong focus on utilizing Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in system administration, scripting, and automation, and good understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance. Responsibilities: Provides advanced technical support and resolves complicated or ambiguous problems regarding UNIX/Linux-based hardware and software.
    Manages complicated systems activities and adjusts system parameters and configuration to ensure security of systems and maximum performance.
    Develop and implement technical standards for Linux and UNIX operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Solaris, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, etc.).
    Perform system kernel tuning, performance optimization, and security hardening.
    Drive decision making, identify alternatives, pros and cons, and make recommendations.
    Integration expertise with a Microsoft Windows computing infrastructure including directory services, file sharing, networking, client configuration, and multi-platform tiered application deployment.
    Actively work on integrating with large, enterprise computing environments, and collaboration with multiple functional teams and customers to ensure high service levels and effective solutions.
    Monitors key performance metrics on Unix based systems and perform capacity analysis as needed.
    Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    10+ years of experience managing large-scale enterprise Linux/UNIX systems.
    7+ years of experience leading technical teams or projects.
    Familiarity with high-availability and clustered Linux/UNIX environments.
    Experience supporting and documenting build and configuration changes throughout environments.
    Understanding of industry standard system architecture and system management concepts and tools.
    Experience in the design, deployment, and support of large, complex systems.
