Job Title: Electromechanical Service Technician - Non-IT

Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. “SCAI” is looking for an experienced technician with three to five (3-5) years of hands-on experience managing the testing, repairing and maintenance of electromechanical or vacuum equipment.
The SCAI Service Technician role is a “hands-on” technical position that interfaces with SCAI management, customers, and performs sophisticated in-house and on-site customer service of semiconductor components, specifically cryogenic vacuum pumps. Primary duties include (1) calibration, maintenance, installation, modification, build, and assembly; (2) identifying root cause analysis and the necessary corrective action (3) providing occasional customer service and support. This position has minimal travel requirements (up to one time per year) and may occasionally require non-traditional business hours (nights, weekends and some holidays).
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and a two year technical degree; or any combination of education and experience that would enable the performance of the full scope of the position is required.Prefer three (3) years of hands-on experience managing the testing, repairing and maintaining electromechanical or vacuum equipment.Prefer clean room experience.Must be proficient in the use of mechanical tools and service test equipment; a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is required.Ability to lift heavy items (50 pounds or more).Assist with shipping and logistics tasks.Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal). Summary

Qualification and Requirements
· BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 7+ years of relevant work experience or MS in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) with 5 years of relevant work experience
· Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, electrical and electronic circuits, printed circuit boards and processes and electrical components (motors, transformers, etc.)
· Knowledge of electrical safety requirements and testing
· Experience developing embedded or supervisory control systems for motorized or fluid processing equipment
· Experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting and testing electrical circuits, equipment and controls and debugging software
· Experience in using power meters, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, hi-pot testers, insulation resistance testers, power supplies, etc.
· Ability to develop concepts, design production test processes and equipment including instrumentation and data acquisition.
· Ability to write instructions & troubleshooting guides for how to use software programs, user interfaces and control systems
· Ability to prepare engineering technical reports on design, analysis, and product design concepts
· Ability to plan, develop, execute test programs and analyze data for qualification of components and prototypes
· Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment

This person will be responsible for the output of the internal repair site as well as external client on-site repair. The ideal candidate has people management experience as well as a technical background. Will need to be able to troubleshoot equipment as well as read schematics and have a working knowledge of high vacuum equipment and other mechanical tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and direct team members in the repairing, trouble shooting, and maintenance of Sumitomo equipment to include cryopumps and other products.Determine schedules, sequences and assignment for work priority, quantity of equipment and skills of personnel. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and /or Electrical Engineering, Cryogenic Engineering, Engineering Technology, plus 5 years of relevant work experience.
Must be able to demonstrate or possess:
· Strong electro-mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain fluid dynamics, vacuum integrity, heat transfer behavior, and pressure regulation in cryogenic systems.
· Experience in technical support, cryogenic equipment service, industrial gas applications, or technical sales preferred.
· Able to read and follow schematics and drawings.
· Must be experienced in troubleshooting and use of test equipment.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
· Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and effectively without formal authority.
