We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including transit buses, school buses, and paratransit vehicles, to safely transport passengers across designated routes. Your primary focus will be ensuring passenger safety, providing excellent customer service, and adhering strictly to transportation safety regulations. Duties
Safely operate commercial vehicles such as transit buses, school buses, and paratransit vans in accordance with traffic laws and company policiesAssist passengers with boarding and alighting, including wheelchair assistance and child care needsConduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness before each shiftFollow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and respond promptly to traffic changes or road hazardsMaintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance reportsEnforce passenger behavior management policies to ensure a safe environment for all ridersCommunicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and team members using clear language and multilingual skills when neededSkills
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport and wheelchair assistanceStrong knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levelsExperience working with children, seniors, or individuals with special needs in a transportation settingExcellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities such as bilingual proficiency are a plusKnowledge of emergency response procedures including CPR, first aid, emergency stop procedures, and incident reportingDefensive driving techniques and quick response skills to adapt to traffic changes swiftlyMechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awarenessAbility to lift heavy objects safely during vehicle inspections or loading/unloading tasksBehavior management skills to handle diverse passenger needs effectively while maintaining discipline and safetyJoin us in delivering safe, reliable transportation that makes a difference!
