Job Description
The Warehouse Lead will assist with daily warehouse operations, including managing staff, monitoring inventory accuracy, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment and timely delivery of goods. This position plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency, enforcing safety compliance, and supporting continuous improvement within the warehouse.
Essential Functions
Leadership & Operations
* Act as Depot Supervisor in their absence.
* Provide daily oversight and direction for inbound and outbound warehouse operations (receiving, tracking, packing, and shipping).
* Ensure on-time and accurate deliveries based on daily schedules and requirements.
Quality Control / Packing
* Supervise and coordinate the unloading and staging of inbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Verify all daily shipments are properly dispatched and invoiced.
* Inspect products for damage and cleanliness before shipment.
Inventory & Logistics
* Coordinate the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods.
* Check orders, bills, and delivery documentation for accuracy.
Staff Supervision & Training
* Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Equipment & Maintenance
* Oversee forklift maintenance and ensure daily inspection checklists are completed.
* Verify that jack stands and chocks are used properly.
* Maintain up-to-date forklift certifications.
* Ensure adequate warehouse supplies are available.
Safety & Compliance
* Enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
* Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
General Warehouse Duties
* Maintain warehouse cleanliness according to the daily cleaning schedule.
* Perform general administrative tasks including data entry, reporting, and filing.
* Use proper lifting techniques; ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs unassisted and 500 lbs using lifting aids.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience.
* Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, parcel, and freight systems).
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts).
* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of shipping regulations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
* Must be able to stand and move for long periods throughout the shift.
* Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
* Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of items up to 100 lbs.
* Frequent mounting and dismounting of warehouse lift equipment.
* Must have good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work safely at all times.
