    One of the largest investment firms in the nation is looking for a hands-on Sr. Database Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and solid experience with PostgreSQL. This role combines technical leadership and execution, focusing on performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of large-scale data environments (2+billion records). This person would need to work 7 days a month in the Jersey City, NJ office.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead design, administration, and optimization of enterprise database systemsManage large-scale datasets, ensuring high performance, availability, and scalabilityTroubleshoot complex database issues and implement performance tuning strategiesPartner with engineering, DevOps, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutionsOversee database architecture, including indexing, partitioning, and data lifecycle managementImplement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutionsDrive automation of database operations using scripting and toolingSupport audits, compliance needs, and data governance initiativesManage vendors and third-party database technologies as needed

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field10+ years of database administration experience, including 8+ years with SQL ServerStrong PostgreSQL administration and optimization experienceProven success working with very large datasets (billions of records)Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database internalsExperience with high-availability solutions (e.g., Always On, replication, log shipping)Proficiency in scripting (T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Bash)Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS RDS, or AuroraStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience in regulated industries and relevant certifications are a plusCompany DescriptionWe specialize in staffing exceptional Professionals to industry leading companies in the US and abroad.     Key Responsibilities

    Talent Management & Leadership Development

    Oversee global talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, and succession planning programs.Establish leadership development frameworks that strengthen management capabilities and support future business needs.Design performance management strategies that drive accountability, employee growth, and business outcomes.Create career development programs that enhance employee retention and internal mobility.

    Total Rewards & Employee Experience

    Direct the development and administration of competitive compensation, incentive, and benefits programs across multiple jurisdictions.Ensure reward strategies remain market-competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational objectives.Lead initiatives that enhance employee well-being, engagement, and overall workplace experience.

    HR Operations & Compliance

    Oversee global HR operations, payroll governance, HR systems, workforce analytics, and employee records management.Ensure compliance with international labor regulations, employment laws, privacy requirements, and industry-specific standards.Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to mitigate employment-related risks and strengthen governance practices.Develop policies and procedures that support consistency while accommodating regional regulatory requirements.

    Technology & Workforce Analytics

    Drive optimization and modernization of HR technology platforms, including HRIS, talent management, and workforce planning systems.Leverage workforce analytics and business intelligence tools to inform strategic decision-making and improve organizational effectiveness.Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled HR solutions, to enhance productivity and employee experience.

    Leadership & Team Development

    Build, mentor, and inspire a global HR leadership team capable of supporting a dynamic and rapidly evolving organization.Foster collaboration across regional HR teams to ensure consistent execution of enterprise priorities.Establish performance standards and development opportunities that promote operational excellence and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field required.Master's degree, MBA, or advanced HR-related degree preferred.Minimum 15 years of progressive human resources leadership experience, including oversight of international HR functions.Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, or equivalent strongly preferred.Demonstrated success leading HR strategy within large, multi-location, or multinational organizations.Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructuring, and enterprise change initiatives.Strong knowledge of global employment regulations, compensation structures, workforce planning, and talent management practices.Experience with enterprise HR technology platforms such as Workday, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar systems.Proven ability to utilize workforce data and analytics to support strategic business decisions.Knowledge of emerging HR technologies, automation, and AI-driven workforce solutions.Exceptional communication, leadership, and executive stakeholder management skills.Financial services, banking, asset management, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
