This role ensures inbound shipments are planned, compliant, cost-effective, and processed accurately while maintaining inventory integrity and operational efficiency. The Inbound Logistics Manager partners closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse operations, and internal teams to ensure smooth end-to-end inbound flow.Position DutiesInternational & Inbound LogisticsManage all inbound logistics activities for domestic and international shipments.Oversee international freight movements, including ocean, air, and ground transportation.Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure timely customs clearance.Ensure compliance with all import regulations, including customs documentation, duties, tariffs, and trade requirements.Provide commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and import documentation for approval.Monitor and resolve customs holds, delays, or compliance issues.Maintain accurate HS classifications and country-of-origin data in coordination with compliance partners.Warehouse & Receiving CoordinationCoordinate inbound delivery schedules with warehouse receiving teams.Ensure accurate receipt, inspection, and system entry of inbound inventory into the WMS.Resolve discrepancies related to shortages, overages, damages, or late deliveries.Support dock-to-stock efficiency and receiving accuracy.Cost Control & Carrier ManagementMonitor inbound freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.Support carrier selection, rate negotiations, and performance management.Track freight spend and support budgeting and forecasting activities.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Purchasing, Production, Planning, Accounting, and Warehouse Operations teams.Communicate inbound shipment status, delays, and risks to stakeholders.Align inbound logistics plans with production schedules and inventory needs.Reporting & Continuous ImprovementTrack and report inbound logistics KPIs, including transit times, on-time delivery, customs clearance performance, and freight costs.Identify process gaps and recommend operational improvements.Support system implementations related to TMS, WMS, ERP, or trade compliance tools.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to company policies, trade compliance requirements, and applicable laws.Maintain audit-ready documentation for customs and logistics activities.Support internal or external audits related to import compliance.Qualifications3–5 years of experience in inbound logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.International shipping and customs compliance MandatoryBilingual (English/Spanish)Working knowledge of import regulations, duties, tariffs, and customs documentation.Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.Experience with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.Experience in retail, apparel, consumer goods, or manufacturing environments.     Field Services Supervisor Construction Materials Testing & Special Inspection



    About the Role

    For over 50 years, STRATA has provided our clients with geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, and material testing (CMT) services throughout the Intermountain West. AtSTRATA, we are focused on the success of our employees and clients.


    We are seeking an experienced Field Services Supervisor (FSS) to lead and manage day-to-day field operations within our Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection program. This is a key leadership role responsible for supervising technical staff, ensuring high-quality project execution, and upholding our commitment to safety, professionalism, and client satisfaction.


    The Field Services Supervisor reports to the Field Services Manager and works closely with Project Managers, Business Managers, laboratory staff, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while fostering a strong team culture and supporting employee development.


    Key Responsibilities

    Field Operations & Project Execution

    Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure technical execution aligns with project scope, schedule, and budget.Oversee and schedule field testing and special inspection staff on a project-by-project basis.Review and approve field data, reports, and technical deliverables for quality and accuracy.Perform fieldwork as needed to support project demands.Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure proper sample handling, processing, and prioritization.

    Leadership & Employee Development

    Supervise and mentor field staff, promoting professional growth, cross-training, and certification attainment.Recruit, hire, train, and onboard field personnel.Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and recognition to build strong, capable teams.Lead by example in safety compliance, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.

    Client Relations & Business Support

    Serve as a professional point of contact for clients during field operations.Deliver high-quality, value-added services that promote repeat business.Support proposal and RFP/RFQ efforts by providing technical input and estimating level of effort when requested.

    Financial & Operational Management

    Ensure technical work is completed in accordance with approved budgets.Communicate scope changes to Project Managers for change order development.Participate in annual budgeting and monthly expense tracking.Support quality, safety, loss prevention, and operational efficiency initiatives.


    Qualifications

    Required

    Minimum 10 years of experience in construction materials testing and/or special inspection.Proven leadership experience in a technical or supervisory role.Strong track record of delivering accurate, timely technical work and managing field teams.Relevant certifications such as WAQTC, IQP, ACI, and/or ICC.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry-specific reporting software.

    Physical & Work Requirements

    Adherence to STRATAs drug and alcohol policy.Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Willingness to travel to job sites and offices; occasional weekend or extended hours may be required.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and perform physical tasks associated with fieldwork.
