Strait School of Music is looking for a skilled and engaging Private Violin / Fiddle Instructor to join our growing team of music educators in Austin. About the Role
This is a part-time teaching position with strong potential for growth as our program continues to expand. You'll teach private violin (and/or fiddle) lessons to students ranging from beginners to advanced players. Our students include children, teens, and adults, and we value instructors who can adapt their teaching style to meet individual learning needs.
We handle scheduling, billing, marketing, and admin - so you can focus on what you do best: teaching and inspiring students.
What You'll Do
Teach private violin/fiddle lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
Build strong relationships with students and families
Create a positive, encouraging learning environment
Track student progress and communicate as needed with staff and parents
Participate in recitals and occasional school events
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or equivalent professional experience
4+ years of private teaching experience preferred
Strong understanding of technique, tone production, and music fundamentals
Ability to teach multiple styles (classical, fiddle, folk, etc.) is a plus
Comfortable working with children and adults
Reliable, professional, and student-focused
Must pass a background check
