Position Overview
Provides support in aluminum casting operations, including billet, sheet ingot, and secondary ingot production. Performs general production tasks throughout the facility as needed. This role includes entry-level classifications such as furnace helper, saw helper, stacker, casting helper, strapper, and other similar positions that may be introduced in the future.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with direct chill casting of aluminum billet and slab ingot following established procedures.
Remove impurities from molten metal molds, furnace runners, and boxes using handheld tools.
Operate cranes to move materials or finished products from casting pits to designated areas.
Support maintenance and cleaning of filtration systems and related equipment.
Prepare tools, molds, and runners for casting operations.
Transport materials between storage, production, and furnace areas as required.
Assist with skimming molten metal pumps and weighing alloying elements for furnace addition.
Organize and move materials, including stacking, unstacking, and strapping.
Weigh, tag, and record materials for transport or shipment.
Prepare finished metal or other materials for shipping as directed.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Assist with mold preparation in the mold shop.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Forklift experience preferred.
