    Our Agency The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia's public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services. Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah (GRHS) is a state-funded multi-service facility operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The hospital provides quality care to mentally ill adults and individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities from its 34-county catchment area in Southeast Georgia. GRHS opened in December of 1970 with a design to decentralize mental health services in the state and treat people nearer to their homes and families. The hospital provides evaluation and treatment to clients needing care. The hospital's admitting office is a psychiatric emergency receiving facility open 24 hours a day. GRHS is seeking candidates for the position of Registered Nurse (Hourly) - Varied Shifts. This is an Hourly position and is not eligible for State Benefits. This position will work on average 29 hours a week. Job Summary - Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. * Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients. * May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. * Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts. * Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans. Overview of Job: The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for handling legal issues related to the DCA administered programs across the agency. The Associate General Counsel also provides legal advice on federal and state laws and regulations that impact the administration and implementation of the Departments within the agency, including affordable housing as well as economic development programs and activities. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing legal analysis and review of program policies and procedures for regulatory compliance, responding to Georgia Open Record Requests, developing, and maintaining internal contracts and procurement processes, supporting agency Board resolution processes, and serving as a liaison between the agency and the Attorney General's office on litigation matters. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: * Superior analytical skills * Ability to understand and apply Federal and state laws and regulations relating to government programs and operations * Ability to provide legal recommendations under broad supervision * Juris Doctor from an accredited college or university * Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia or reciprocity or be eligible to be admitted to the State Bar of Georgia within six (6) months of DCA employment * Minimum of three (3) years of Legal experience * Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality * Ability to work as a team player PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the agency specific minimum qualifications possess the following: * One or more years of experience working in an affordable housing program * One or more years of experience working in an economic or community development program * Two or more years of legal experience working for a local, state, or federal entity * Two or more years of contract drafting and management experience WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT) This position is currently designated as a hybrid (part in-office and part remote/Telework) position. Three days in office and 2 days remote. This position is full time (40 hours per week) and may require occasional overtime. Local periodic travel may be required. PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS Work is principally stationary, but the person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and constantly operate a computer and other office equipment.
