The Vice President of Marketing is a front-and-center leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with regular communication to board members. This position is responsible for shaping the Starbird brand experience and accelerating our expansion in the fast-casual space.
The Opportunity
The Vice President of Marketing is a key member of Starbird's executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO and cross-functional leaders. This role owns the end-to-end marketing strategy across corporate restaurants and the expanding franchise system - driving brand awareness, guest acquisition, digital engagement, loyalty, and revenue growth.
This leader will bring deep experience scaling restaurant or food & beverage brands, building high-performance teams, and creating repeatable, franchise-ready marketing systems. The ideal candidate is both a visionary brand builder and a highly operational, data-driven executive who thrives in fast-growth, entrepreneurial environments.

Requirements: Key Responsibilities Brand Strategy & Growth Leadership Lead Starbird's brand vision, positioning, and storytelling to support national expansionBuild long-term brand equity while driving near-term performance growthDevelop and execute the annual marketing strategy, goals, and operating planPresent marketing strategy, performance, budgets, and growth initiatives to the BoardLead, develop, and inspire a high-performing marketing and sales teamEstablish strong operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and cross-functional alignment Demand Generation & Revenue Growth Own guest acquisition, retention, loyalty, and digital engagement strategiesDrive performance marketing across digital and in-restaurant channels to increase traffic, frequency, and average checkLead promotional strategy, creative development, and execution aligned with brand and culinary visionOversee catering marketing strategy to drive incremental revenue and brand elevationOptimize ROI across promotions and campaigns Public Relations & Communications Own Starbird's brand voice and messaging across internal and external communicationsLead PR strategy and agency partnerships aligned with growth and brand prioritiesEnsure integrated communications across brand campaigns, menu launches, and market expansions Brand Management & Creative Excellence Own brand standards, visual identity, and style guidesEnsure creative consistency across all touchpoints - digital, in-store, menu, third-party platforms, and franchise materialsManage creative agencies, RFPs, and vendor partnershipsLead brand refinements and evolutions to support growth while preserving Starbird's culture and roots Marketing Technology & Systems Provide strategic oversight of loyalty and digital platform migrations and performanceEnsure seamless guest communication, campaign execution, and data integrity during system transitions Franchise Marketing & Scale Build a franchise-ready marketing infrastructure and playbookPartner with franchise leadership to support new market launches and local marketing executionDevelop tools, training, and systems that enable franchisees to drive results while maintaining brand standards What We're Looking For BS, MBA preferred 15+ years of proven executive-level marketing leadership in restaurant, food & beverage, or multi-unit consumer brandsExperience scaling brands in fast-growth environments, including franchise systemsStrong background in brand strategy, performance marketing, loyalty, and digital platformsProven track record operating both strategically, setting vision, and tactically executing an operational road mapData-driven decision maker with a strong creative sensibilityExceptional people leader who builds high-performing teams and cultureStrategic notice paired with hands-on operational execution
Compensation: $200,000-$240,000 annually, plus performance-based bonus and equity potential. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and employee dining benefits.
