Your Opportunity
The Healthcare Planners role is to collaborate with the design team and Owner to resolve and implement distinguished design concepts that make lives better. This role will work with general guidance and direction from a Senior Health Planner or Project Manager. You will support all aspects of the project process from validation/pre-design, medical planning, schematics, design development through construction documentation and construction administration within Acute Care and Ambulatory Care Health projects. Along with your Project Manager or Senior Health Planner, you may support multiple projects at any time, within various phases of design and construction.
Your Key Responsibilities
Participate in making key decisions regarding healthcare planning and design of hospital and clinics of significant complexity and size as an integral member of the planning and design team.
On projects of medium complexity &/or size, responsible for leading others in project team setting and effectively participate in Clinical User Group meetings and client presentations
Participate and coordinate with the team to produce deliverables reflecting the design teams planning and design recommendations and client expectations relative to approved program and budget
Inspires creativity, critical thought and design excellence both internally and externally.
Conceptualizes a buildings medical planning design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a clients requirements, budget, and program.
Develops medical planning design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups.
Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Presents the medical planning design or technical information with the Project Manager / Lead Healthcare Medical Planner to stakeholders during early project phases. Develops medical planning design in accordance with cost parameters.
Evaluates and selects building systems and materials.
Coordinates building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
Implements sustainable design principles into the design and environment.
Ensures that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.

Familiarity and keen interest in issues surrounding innovative healthcare design, strategic planning, and master-planning

General understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to travel up to 25% is desired.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in architecture or related field.
Licensure, or working to obtain licensure preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$94,300.00 - $136,700.00 Annually

The Regional Sector Leader (RSL) is an integral role within our Water regional leadership team, directing our work with technical rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for solving the world's greatest water challenges. This role focuses on growing our wastewater treatment capabilities and portfolio in the US North region - spanning from New England to Virginia along the East Coast, around the Great Lakes, and extending west to the Dakotas and Nebraska. Reporting directly to the North America Wastewater Treatment Sector Leader, you will play a pivotal role in translating our broader North American strategy into actionable initiatives for the region, closely collaborating to align resources, technical capabilities, and business growth objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinating with the US North Regional Growth Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying and supporting the win of strategic pursuits in collaboration with local Business Leaders
- Acting as the Liaison between regional teams and the North America Wastewater Treatment Sector Leader to align technical capabilities and resources.
- Reinforcing our brand as a leader in wastewater treatment through active participation in industry organizations, conference participation, publications, webinars, and strategic client engagement
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to wastewater treatment professionals across the region.
- Lead technical delivery of wastewater treatment planning and/or design projects. Regularly engage with clients.
- Actively participate in industry associations
- Leverage your understanding of industry drivers, market trends, and legislative requirements in the US North to support and grow our wastewater treatment portfolio.
- Identify how technology changes that affect our clients and our business.
- Collaborate across the region to share knowledge and resources.
- Contribute to our North America Wastewater Treatment Team implementing our strategy across the continent and bringing services and specialists from the broader Stantec organization to our clients.
- Help recruit, retain, and inspire a team of wastewater treatment professionals, at multiple levels, with exceptional technical skills.
- Engage in delivery of wastewater projects as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise, industry best practices, and new or innovative technologies.
- Work closely with sector leaders, regional growth teams, project developers, and the Stantec Institute for Water Technology and Policy to leverage internal resources and match them up with projects and pursuits where they can bring value.
