Thermal Spray - Coating Technician

Shifts Available:
2nd Shift: 4/10-hour shifts Monday-Thursday (10% Shift Differential)
Weekend Shift: 3/12-hour Shifts Friday – Sunday (11% Shift Differential; start times include 4am-4pm, 5am-5pm or 6am-6pm)

As a Thermal Spray Coating Technician, you’ll set-up and operate spray systems to apply Thermal Spray coatings to parts.
What you’ll do:
Selects, prepares solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications and creates spray recipes and sequences for spraying.Plans, develops, writes, revises, documents, tests, implements and controls programs for robots as applicable.Operates blasting equipment to clean and prepare the surface of materials and components.Prepares and masks parts with fixtures, rubber, tape, tafa, antibond or metal masks prior to coating.Sets up and operates various types of manual, semi-automatic and/or robotic spray systems to apply substances to parts.Removes masking, cleans overspray and washes parts.Inspects surfaces visually for defects and compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, elcometers, profilometers, or related devices prior to and after applying coating.Cleans and maintains spray/coating equipment, fixtures and blast cabinets.Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.Carries out other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience with Thermal Spray or Plasma Spray Coatings1+ years of experience working with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
Desired Skills:
Possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.

As a Machinist you’ll complete a machining function from start to finish. You will load fixtures/parts onto the machine, set tools and generate offsets, and record dimensions throughout the machining process.
What you’ll do:
Machine products to tight tolerancesReads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performedVerifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometersComputes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work piecesAdjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operatorsParticipates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirementsWork independently and as a team to achieve maximum qualityCompute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracyObserving all applicable safety practices Carries out other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills.3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers).3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations. Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistanceAbility to stand for 5 plus hours at a time High School Diploma, or GEDMust be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred CNC or Manual Machinist Certification VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision

As an Inspector, you’ll have the responsibility of inspecting, identifying, and determining status of products being processed for repair or overhaul.
What you’ll do:
Determine and document product configuration and modification status to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.Verify parts are clean and in acceptable condition to perform required inspections.Evaluate products for repairability and identify items that do not meet requirements.Record inspection results and maintain accurate inspection documentation.Generate documentation required for repair of unserviceable components.Inspect and identify parts through the Reduced to Spares (RTS) process.Support production by supervising trainees, cross-training team members, participating in process improvements, and maintaining safety standards.Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in the aircraft engine components repair industry.Must be able to provide documentation of at least 1 year or more of on-the-job training (OJT) specific to the duties performed in order to qualify for a Repairman Certificate in a short period of time.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for at least 25% of the shiftAbility to sit for at least 50% of shift

Must be able to demonstrate experience in using precision measuring tools.Knowledgeable in and ability to identify and interpret conditions on products that are the result of service operation.Ability to use and interpret publications used in the production process (graphs, charts, schematics, blueprints).Working knowledge of the functions and operation of the products being inspected.Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems.Experience with RTS (Return to Service) on aircraft parts.Ability to sign off on 8130’s by having a repairman certificate or A&P license.
