    Position Summary

    The Lead Paralegal is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the paralegal team while managing a complex caseload in Family Law and Estate Planning. This role provides leadership, quality control, and advanced legal support to ensure cases are efficiently managed, deadlines are met, and clients receive exceptional service. The Lead Paralegal serves as a key connection between attorneys, clients, and legal support staff while promoting firm procedures, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Supervision

    Supervise, train, and mentor paralegals and legal support staff.Delegate assignments, monitor workloads, and ensure timely completion of tasks.Train new employees on firm procedures, case management software, and best practices.Review work product for accuracy, completeness, and quality before attorney review.Serve as the primary resource and support contact for the paralegal team.Family Law Case Management

    Manage and oversee family law matters, including divorce, custody, modifications, enforcement actions, and other related cases.Monitor case progress, deadlines, court requirements, and client deliverables.Prepare and review pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.Assist attorneys with mediation preparation, hearings, trial preparation, and case strategy.Coordinate discovery requests, document production, and evidence organization.Maintain accurate litigation calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines.Estate Planning Support

    Assist attorneys with estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.Prepare and organize estate planning documents for attorney review.Coordinate client meetings, document collection, and follow-up communication.Maintain accurate estate planning files and ensure proper execution and organization of documents.Assist with client questions regarding document requirements and next steps.Client Relations

    Maintain professional and timely communication with clients regarding case status, documents, and deadlines.Provide exceptional client service throughout representation.Assist with client intake, onboarding, and file transitions when needed.Ensure all communications and documents are properly documented in the case management system. Operations & Compliance

    Ensure compliance with court rules, filing deadlines, ethical requirements, and firm procedures.Monitor case metrics, productivity, and workflow efficiency.Assist with developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.Maintain organized and audit-ready client files. Administrative Responsibilities

    Coordinate scheduling for hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.Maintain electronic files and document organization.Ensure pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and client documents are uploaded promptly into the case management system.Coordinate with courts, court reporters, process servers, and outside professionals as needed. Technology & Process Improvement

    Train staff on legal technology, case management systems, and document management procedures.Assist with software implementation, updates, and process improvements.Recommend workflow enhancements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency. Performance Expectations (KPIs)

    Maintain 25+ billable hours per week (if applicable).Ensure 100% compliance with court deadlines and filing requirements.Complete document reviews and assignments within established timelines.Maintain high accuracy and quality standards for all legal documents.Respond to client communications within firm service standards.Maintain organized, complete, and updated case files.Support attorney productivity by ensuring cases are prepared in advance of deadlines, hearings, and meetings. Skills & Qualifications

    5+ years of paralegal experience preferred.Experience in Family Law and/or Estate Planning required.Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.Proficiency with legal technology, including PracticePanther, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic filing systems.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plusPosition Impact

    Stagg & Associates is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, communicating with clients, and representing clients in court proceedings as needed.     Key Responsibilities

    Manage and maintain assigned caseloads from intake through resolution.

    Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters.

    Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.

    Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.

    Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.

    Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes when appropriate.

    Prepare for and participate in trials and evidentiary hearings.

    Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

    Maintain accurate case files and comply with all court deadlines.

    Stay informed of changes in applicable laws and regulations.

    Qualifications

    Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

    Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

    1-2 years of legal experience preferred; qualified recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

    Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

    Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

    Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.

    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in litigation and courtroom appearances.
