    We’re hiring experienced Field Technicians to support electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and system testing on rail cars in final assembly. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, 3:00 pm - 11 pm and 10:00 pm - 6:00 am

    Responsibilities

    Troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical systems using hand tools, multimeters, and PC-based test equipment.Read/interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.Perform system tests (HVAC, brakes, propulsion, communications, ATC, trainline, pneumatic, wiring continuity, hipot, dynamic tests).Lead tasks, assist other technicians, support engineering tests, and interact with customers.Document test results, discrepancies, and reports accurately.

    Requirements

    Prior electrical or mechanical testing experience (not entry-level).HS diploma required; technical school/associate degree preferred.Proficiency with diagnostic tools, MS Office, and basic data analysis.Ability to climb/lift 40 lbs., work any shift, meet deadlines, and travel as needed.Strong communication, troubleshooting, and reporting skills.

    Responsibilities

    Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, installation, and repair work in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules.Complete assigned work using blueprints, technical drawings, written procedures, and verbal instructions.Install, route, secure, and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, tubing, and piping throughout railcar assemblies.Fabricate, bend, and install conduit, tubing, and piping to meet engineering specifications and installation requirements.Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify, troubleshoot, and correct wiring discrepancies.Assemble and install mechanical components, brackets, supports, and hardware using hand tools and power tools.Perform soldering, wire terminations, and electrical connections while ensuring proper workmanship and system reliability.Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify defects and perform necessary repairs.Operate fabrication equipment and machinery to manufacture or modify components according to engineering specifications.Produce templates, jigs, fixtures, and production aids to improve assembly efficiency and maintain quality standards.Perform metal fabrication, finishing, fitting, drilling, cutting, and assembly operations as required.Execute basic welding and brazing activities, including fabrication, repairs, and installation of piping and structural components.Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, and safety requirements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies and procedures.Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet production goals and resolve assembly issues.

     

    Qualifications

    Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical work instructions.Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring, identify miswires, and perform corrective actions.Experience installing, bending, routing, and securing conduit, tubing, piping, and electrical wiring.Knowledge of electrical wiring methods, terminations, soldering, and electrical assembly techniques.Experience using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and fabrication equipment.Ability to fabricate, assemble, repair, and install mechanical and electrical components.Experience operating metal fabrication machinery and related shop equipment is preferred.Knowledge of mechanical assembly, fabrication, welding, brazing, or machining is a plus.Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and attention to detail.Experience in railcar manufacturing, automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, bus manufacturing, or industrial assembly is preferred.     Position Summary

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Safety Coordinator to support daily safety operations within a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and customer safety requirements. The Site Safety Coordinator will work closely with management and employees to reduce workplace hazards, conduct safety training, investigate incidents, and drive continuous safety improvements.

    This is a hands-on position that requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working throughout an active manufacturing or industrial facility.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

    Conduct new hire safety orientations and ongoing employee safety training.Perform routine safety inspections, audits, and job hazard assessments to identify and correct unsafe conditions.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer-specific safety requirements.Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and incident logs.Monitor compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and ensure proper usage.Oversee and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fall protection, confined space, and other safety programs as applicable.Assist with emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and emergency preparedness activities.Work closely with supervisors and employees to promote safe work practices and foster a positive safety culture.Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.Participate in safety meetings and communicate safety expectations to employees and contractors.Maintain safety equipment and supplies while ensuring required certifications remain current.

     

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field is a plus.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a workplace, manufacturing, construction, transportation, or industrial safety role.Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards.CPR and First Aid Certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and compliance audits.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively train and coach employees.Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between work sites as needed.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.Experience in manufacturing, transportation, rail, automotive, heavy industrial, or construction environments.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or behavior-based safety programs.

     

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, and work throughout an active industrial facility.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hard hat, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, and other protective equipment.
