We are seeking a responsible, proactive church administrator to manage the business affairs of the church in a smooth and efficient manner. The primary functions of the position include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church office, maintaining church administrative and financial records, coordinating church events, and providing administrative support to the church staff. To be successful in this role, you should be detail oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage daily office operations and maintaining office supplies and records
Pay bills, oversee payrolls, and track and record church income from donations and sales
Keep accurate financial records
Administer the records of the church and official documents
Handle church communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins and newsletters
Update the church’s website and social media accounts
Provide general administrative support to the pastoral staff as requested
Serve as the church receptionist by answering incoming phone calls, greeting office visitors, and redirecting inquires as appropriate
Oversee church facility maintenance and security operations
Coordinate the schedule of church events
Assist with scheduling meetings, renting church equipment and facilities, and enforcing church policies for facility use
Building and maintaining relationships with the congregation and community
Work with pastors and other church leaders to develop, implement, and maintain organizational policies and programs
Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous office or administrative experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills
Knowledge of general fiscal management principles (e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, etc.)
Knowledge and proficiency with computers and commonly used office software
Knowledge and proficiency with general office equipment
Ability to work independently or with a team
Strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and problem solve
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discernment
Commitment to being an upstanding representative of the church community

Organizational skills: Church administrators must be able to keep track of multiple projects and deadlines, manage volunteers, and coordinate with other organizations in the community.

Knowledge of the Episcopal Church: An Episcopal church administrator should have or be willing to gain a good understanding of the Episcopal Church's history, doctrine, and polity.

Job Overview
The Nursery Director is a vital role in the life and ministry of St. Paul’s. Working in partnership with the clergy and Director of Family Ministries, the Director will oversee all elements of our ministry with the youngest members of our congregation. This includes Sunday morning care, monthly Parents’ Night Out, regular weeknight formation (such as Alpha and Lenten Soup Suppers), and various other occasions throughout the year. The Nursery Director will work to recruit, train, and schedule additional nursery staff and volunteers in order the meet the demands of our growing parish. St. Paul’s welcomes numerous families with special needs, and the Nursery Director will work in with other staff and volunteers to maintain an inclusive environment for all.
Responsibilities
· Leads the team whenever the nursery is expected to be open (Sunday mornings, PNO, week-night formation, other occasions)
o In-person presence is required for this position, though some administrative work (i.e. scheduling) can be done remotely.
o Arrange for alternative leadership when absent (3 Sundays off per year, coordinated with supervisor).
o Train up senior staff to be team-leads, both for Sunday and non-Sunday opportunities
§ As this is accomplished, the non-Sunday opportunities can be delegated more freely.
o Maintain sanitary and organized nursery equipment and rooms.
· Nursery Staff Supervision
o Recruit, train, and schedule a full complement of staff
o Schedule nursery staff as needed and bi-weekly approval of hours worked within the online payroll system
o Coordinate background checks, Safe Church training, and CPR trainings with Parish Administrator
o Review and update St. Paul’s Nursery Policies and Procedures (2011 edition) as needed
o Review and train staff on Emergency Procedures, including evacuation and active shooter protocols
· Proactive communication with parents and families
· Coordinate Parents’ Night Out 1/month
o Select theme, purchase supplies and snacks, set up
· Ensures that the Nursery remains clean and well-stocked
· Present and participates in:
o Monthly supervision meetings with Rector/Associate Rector
o Monthly Children and Family Ministry check-ins
o Bi-weekly whole staff meetings (as available)

Qualifications

· Familiarity with Episcopal/Anglican identity is preferred
· Bachelor’s Degree and supervisory experience preferred
Compensation and Hours
· Approximately 8 hours of work per week
· Salaried position, with compensation range based upon experience and qualifications
