    We have an outstanding opportunity for a PRN/Fill-In CRNA to join SSM Health Dean Medical Group, based in Madison, WI. This is an employed role that will receive a competitive hourly rate, malpractice insurance but no other benefits.

    Your Qualifications:

    Graduate of nationally accredited CRNA ProgramAbility to obtain licensure in WisconsinACLS (through American Heart Association), BLS and PALS

    Join a collaborative team of 17 anesthesiologists and 77+ CRNAs, where teamwork and mutual support are at the core of our practice. The position is based at St. Marys Hospital and the adjacent Surgery and Care Center. St. Marys Hospital features 12 operating rooms plus 3 cardiovascular operating rooms, 3 endoscopy rooms, 3 OB suites, and multiple medical imaging procedure rooms. The Surgery & Care Outpatient Surgery Center has 8 operating rooms and 1 Endoscopy suite.

    Our CRNAs participate in and cover all types of cases in a collaborative and supportive team concept. The typical case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, GI, vascular, cardiothoracic (dedicated cardiac team), neurosurgery, healthy pediatrics, and OB. We offer a flexible schedule with a variety of shift options (8, 10, 12, 24 hours) Monday through Friday.

    The radiation oncologist will be expected to utilize all radiation modalities including IMRT, SRS, SBRT, VMAT and HDR brachytherapy while working with a multi-disciplinary team managing adult malignancies. Current equipment within SSM Health includes Varian TrueBeam linacs, CyberKnife, GE CT simulator with wide bore and 4D capability, Nucletron HDR remote after loader, Eclipse, ARIA, and Epic EMR.

    Physics staff is highly experienced with brachytherapy planning. The position requires close collaboration with several active academic in-house gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic brachytherapy device placement is performed in the OR in conjunction with the gynecologic oncology team.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Makes pre-operative evaluations on all patients assigned to his/her care. Studies chart for results of history and physical, medical consults, and pre-operative tests, to determine probable effects of anesthesia on the patient, and takes appropriate actions to correct abnormalities if possible. Initiates EKG, blood pressure and pulse oximeter monitors prior to induction.Assists in positioning patient on operating table, taking care to protect the patient from injury.Induces anesthesia on direction of attending surgeon.Administers anesthesia under direction and supervision of anesthesiologist in collaboration with surgeon. Supports life functions during the administration of anesthesia, including induction and intubation. Maintains anesthesia at appropriate levels. Administers no more than one anesthetic at a time.Provides appropriate pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia management of the patient.Recognizes and takes appropriate corrective action (including requisitioning consultation when necessary) for abnormal patient responses to anesthesia or to any adjunctive medication or therapy. Provides professional observation and resuscitative care (including requesting consultation when necessary) until the patient has regained control of his vital functions. Provide other forms of patient care, such as emergency intubation, inhalation therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.Record all pertinent data on the anesthesia record. Inform PACU nurse of patient's condition and any expected problems. Keep surgeon informed of patient's condition at all times.Follows established infection control guidelines and reports safety hazards for immediate resolution.Assembles necessary supplies and equipment needed, and tests equipment to assure proper function prior to commencing anesthesia. Disassembles and cleans equipment according to policies of the department. Requisition necessary equipment, supplies, adjustments and repairs. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned. Under the direction of anesthesiologist(s), assess, plans, coordinates, and implements and evaluates patients receiving anesthetic care.

    Education:

    Master's degree or higher with advanced certifications

    Experience:

    Preference for candidate to have at least one year of Anesthesia experience, however, new graduates are welcome.

The inpatient and intensive care departments are staffed by a team of nine hospitalists and average approximately 2,000 inpatient admissions per year. Our Family Birth Suites offer seven labor-delivery-recovery (LDR) suites, 5 medical/surgical rooms, and its own operating room. SSM Health Monroe Hospital averages 475 births per year. SSM Health in Monroe also includes rural family medicine residency and emergency medicine fellowship programs.
