    Job DescriptionJob Description

    Teachers are responsible for helping maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment that supports the positive development of every child. Teachers work collaboratively with Lead Teachers to implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences, provide quality care, and ensure compliance with all licensing and program requirements.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.Assist Lead Teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities based on the curriculum and learning objectives.Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.Greet children and families during arrival and departure, communicating professionally with parents as needed.Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging interactions and activities.Assist with diapering, toileting, and potty training while following proper sanitation procedures.Prepare and serve meals and snacks as assigned, following food safety guidelines.Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and center policies.Comply with all Missouri childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, CACFP requirements, and center policies.Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.Perform other duties as assigned to support the operation of the center.

    Education

    Preferred:

    College coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

    Experience

    Preferred:

    One year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced childcare environment.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must successfully complete all required pre-employment health screenings.Must maintain clearance through the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry.Must complete required tuberculosis (TB) screening in accordance with state regulations.

    Licensure and Certification

    Required:

    Obtain Heartsaver Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire.Complete all required Missouri childcare orientation and annual training requirements.

    Physical Requirements

    Frequently lift and carry children weighing up to 50 pounds.Bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods.Move quickly in response to children's needs and emergencies.Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Read Less
