    Established in 1951, SPS Companies, Inc. is a wholesale distributor of products and services for residential and commercial plumbing, mechanical and industrial piping, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and fire protection. We currently have seven plumbing locations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Colorado. Our SPS Kitchen and Bath Showrooms are located at three of these locations. In addition to plumbing and heating, we also have a fire protection division and a roofing and sheet metal division. As an Employee-Owned Company (ESOP), our employees have a vested interest in SPS and its success.

    Our sales representatives are responsible for increasing sales and overall company profits through the continued cultivation of existing customers and establishment of new customers. By building strong relationships throughout the company and industry, developing a comprehensive knowledge of our product lines, and exceeding customer needs our sales representatives play an integral role in our continued growth and success.

    Specific Duties Include:

    Contact new and existing customers on a regular basis to learn their business needs and provide information about products and services available to them.Enter orders into the system accurately, keep customer informed of shipment details, and follow through on commitments made to the customer.Develop knowledge of features and functionality of products, including price points, application, and availabilityEstablish trusted advisor status with customer, serving as the primary facilitator for their requestsIdentify and promote opportunities for the sale of additional productsDevelop company relationships and use internal resources to help resolve customer issues quicklyUpdate branch manager following customer meetings and make them aware of any outstanding issuesFollow-up on new customer leads in a timely fashionUnderstand the nuances of competitor product offerings and their audienceEducate customers on our value proposition, clearly explaining what differentiates us from our competition

    Base salary plus commission on assigned outside accounts; Salary based on experience and qualifications.

    SPS Companies Fire Protection Division (SPS Fire) is currently seeking an individual to fill an Entry Level Production/Delivery Driver role at our Oak Creek, WI location. The starting wage is $21.00 with a yearly contract increase each September 1st. Training is provided, no previous fabrication experience is required. A strong mechanical aptitude and forklift experience is preferred but not required. Pipe Fabricators is a member of the Local 314 Sprinkler Fitters union.

    Job Description Overview

    Operate pipe cutter/groover/threaders

    Once trained must be able to work independently and efficiently

    Accurately read, measure and cut pipe based on customer specified cut sheet

    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space

    Other duties as assigned

    Reports to the Production Manager

    Make deliveries with our F550 Stake truck and work towards a Class B license with company assistance.

    SPS Fire Protection is seeking a part-time employee for our Wichita, KS location. We welcome your stellar work ethic and positive attitude.


    At SPS Fire Protection, we provide premier fire protection products and fabrication to the fire protection industry in the greater Wichita area and surrounding states. Products and services offered include pipe fittings, valves, pipe hangers, and fire sprinkler accessories as well as metal pipework services.

    In this position, responsibilities include:

    • Operating a forklift to load and unload trucks and to stock material in the warehouse

    • The ability to lift to 70lbs on occasion

    • Receiving product into our computer system

    • Maintaining inventory levels

    • Entering and picking orders for customers

    • Using computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as running reports within our system to manage inventory cycle counts.

    Experience in customer service is preferred, but not required.


    This is a 20 hour per week, Part-Time position with hours being 7am to 12pm. Starting wage is $15 per hour.

    Any offer of employment is contingent on successful completion of background screening, to include a drug screen and physical and the ability to qualify for our fleet safety requirements to operate company vehicles.

This is a union position with the local 417 PipeFitters Union. The starting wage is $22.05 with a wage increase every 6 months until reaching full scale following a 3-year progression based on current union agreement. The current top scale is over $33.00.


    Job Description Overview

    Fill customer orders for production jobs

    Provide counter sales support as needed

    Assist customers with material selection, payment collection, and invoicing upon completion

    Deliver material lists to appropriate production areas

    Operate pipe cutting, grooving, and threading equipment

    Accurately read cut sheets; measure and cut pipe to specifications

    Maintain acceptable groove and thread depth tolerances

    Bundle pipe for production and shipment

    Package materials for shipment (palletized or boxed) for company trucks or local carriers

    Coordinate courier shipments when required

    Communicate professionally with warehouse and production staff
