    Join our Compass Program team as a Compass Case Manger or Clinician! In this role, you'll work with at-risk youth (ages 12-23) and their families, providing critical services like assessment, case planning, crisis response, and family preservation. As part of a dedicated team, you'll help youth achieve their goals through strengths-based treatment planning and comprehensive case management, focusing on areas such as housing, education, employment, mental health, and substance use support.

    This is a full-time, field-based position with frequent travel, requiring reliable transportation and comprehensive insurance. We offer a competitive annual salary range for a bachelor’s level Case Manager of $50,000 – $58,000, with the master’s level Clinicians range at $56,000 – $65,000 and a robust benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; HRA; short term and long term disability, accrued vacation, health leave; and a 403(b) retirement plan.


    The Compass Case Manager or Clinician carries a caseload of 14-16 youth and families, offering direct services and support on a weekly basis. You’ll develop individualized treatment plans that leverage client strengths, conduct assessments to identify risks and needs, and connect youth to vital resources, including housing, education, employment, healthcare, and community support. Collaboration is key in this role, you’ll work closely with families, other clinical staff, and community partners to stabilize and strengthen family systems. This position also includes participation in a monthly on-call rotation to provide emergency phone intervention as needed. Additionally, the role involves timely and accurate documentation, outreach to local resources, and educating referral sources about our services.

    Essential Functions

    Maintain a caseload by providing direct services and service coordination to 14-16 youth and families on a weekly basisMaintain appropriate and timely documentation in client files, complete quarterly data reporting, and provide other program information as requestedAssist clients in developing individualized comprehensive treatment planEngage in outreach to local community resources and referral sources including DCF to coordinate services and to provide outreach and education to other providers about the services being offeredTo provide case management and mental health intervention including efforts to:Assist youth in identifying their goals.Conduct formal assessment of the youth's risks and needs for support, stabilization, and additional resources.Assist youth in developing a plan that uses their strengths to help them meet their goals.Assist youth in attaining sustainable employment.Assist youth in identifying their goals to enroll and/or complete education.Assist youth in accessing and maintaining affordable housing.Assist youth in accessing health care.Assist youth in identifying and developing lifelong connections and support from caring adults.Participate in emergency on-call rotation approximately one week per month with other team members providing phone intervention as needed 24/7Access family systems theory-based knowledge and other evidence-based approaches to inform treatmentActively support diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts by participating in ongoing training and professional development

    Knowledge and Skills Required

    Master's degree in social work or related field or equivalent relevant experience working with adolescent and young adults, especially in providing case management services.     Become a member of our Respite team who covers overnight shifts for part and full time Basic Needs Staff and assume their overall responsibilities. They are responsible for the overall safety of program residents and management of the supported housing facility. Staff are expected to be an active part of a team and model effective, appropriate, and timely communication with others regarding client updates.

    The position has an immediate start date for training, however, is on an as needed basis once trained. They are nonexempt positions with a base hourly wage of $21.63, with a possible shift differential of $2.00, $4.00, or $5.00 depending on shift covering. The Overnight Respite Staff would be specifically available to cover shifts from 1:30 am to 9:30 am, which are compensated with an additional differential of $4.00 for weeknights or $5.00 per hour on weekend overnights.

    Supervise and engage youth in program expectations:Ensure safety of all youth while on the premisesUphold and maintain program policies and regulations at all timesPerform facility maintenance to uphold a professional atmosphere Assist youth in carrying out daily routines and achieving goals Support skill building in life skill areasAdhere to resident medication plans in Supported Housing and Nightly ShelterSupport residents and/or case managers with move-in and move-out proceduresResponsible for accurate and timely completion of record keeping including:Individual client files in Electronic Health Record systemDaily follow-up with e-mail Time sheetsDocumentation of critical incidents Communication and cross over with other staff is expected including the following:Update on the shift and status of all youth/residentsMedication, progress toward goals, critical information discussedTasks completed and tasks that need to be completed on next shift It is expected the Respite staff will respond to all requests for coverage to detail if they can take a shift or not. And are you looking to work closely with a team of dedicated professionals? Join our Basic Needs Program in Burlington at the Drop-In Center as a Youth Coach. All Spectrum staff, including Youth Coaches, are expected to participate in regular and ongoing supervision and training to best serve the youth we work with. This is a part time nonexempt position consisting of approximately 22 hours per week and pays $21.63 per hour plus a shift differential, if applicable.


    In this role, you are an important part of the Drop-In community! Youth Coaches are some of the first people to help young adults facing hardship in our community. Youth Coaches help Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) ages 14-25 gain access to food, shelter, stability, take steps to heal from trauma, accomplish their goals and build meaningful community.


    Essential Functions


    • Maintain the Drop-In Center as a safe, clean, and accessible space for Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), ages 14-24.

    • Provide basic needs including hygiene supplies, meals, clothing and community to youth who access Drop-In services.

    • Provide supportive engagement, brief interventions and crisis intervention techniques based on Spectrum provided trainings

    • Provide resource coordination and referrals to other Spectrum and community services as appropriate.

    • Assist with designing and implementing positive youth activities, field trips and groups.

    • Advocate for and with youth within Spectrum, their personal relationships and the community to make positive change

    • Other Duties:

    Assist in the training and mentoring of new Youth Coaches, Interns and AmeriCorps members. Perform formal intake process with each new youth to the space.Upkeep timely and accurate records in our electronic health record system including interactions with youth, attendance and other grant deliverables Conduct appropriate screenings to get youth connected to useful resources and help Spectrum track dataParticipate in a culture of collaboration, consultation and ongoing learning by attending regular meetings with colleagues, supervisors, trainers and community partners

    o Assist with designing program policies and updates as needed and adhere to the procedures and policies of the agency and of the program.

    o Utilize On-Call and supervision

    Knowledge and Skills Required

    Must be at least 18 years old.Must be knowledgeable about issues facing target population (Transitional Aged Youth, homelessness, substance abuse, mental health problems, family conflict, physical health issues, criminality, disability, marginalized identities etc.) and be willing to learn.Must be knowledgeable or willing to learn about area resources available to youth and young adults and be able to dispense that information as needed to youth seeking services. Ability to build relationships quickly and across time with diverse populations and large groups of people.The ability to work independently and as a team member and according to the NASW code of Ethics.
