    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Overview:The Clinical DME Fitter is responsible for providing personalized fitting services and education to patients requiring durable medical equipment, such as orthotic devices, prosthetics, and other medical assistive devices. The role involves working closely with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure the proper fit, function, and use of medical equipment.

    Responsibilities:Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate durable medical equipment needs.Take accurate measurements and perform fittings for orthotic and prosthetic devices in alignment with patients' individual requirements.Educate patients and their caregivers on the proper use, care, and maintenance of durable medical equipment.Collaborate with healthcare providers, such as physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, fittings, and equipment provided.Stay current with industry trends, advancements in durable medical equipment, and best practices for patient care.Qualifications:At least 1 year of proven experience in fitting and providing education on durable medical equipment, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting.Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly as it relates to the fitting of orthotic and prosthetic devices.Familiarity with a variety of durable medical equipment, including but not limited to braces, supports, orthoses, and prostheses.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.Attention to detail and the ability to accurately measure and fit medical equipment to meet individual patient needs.Certification or licensure as a clinical DME fitter preferred.Skills:Patient assessment and evaluationFitting and adjustments of durable medical equipmentPatient education and trainingCollaboration and communication with healthcare professionalsRecord-keeping and documentationKnowledge of medical terminology and anatomyWork Environment:Clinical DME Fitters typically work in clinical settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, orthopedic clinics, or prosthetic and orthotic facilities.
