Supervisor, Incoming Inspection (Starship) This is a highly quality-centric position and requires deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes and practical experience with QA/QC practices. The focus of the supervisor includes leading cross-functional group of quality inspectors and dimensional inspectors across multiple areas. You would drive process improvements using lean manufacturing methodologies, such as 5S, visual management, and standard work. The ideal candidate would be process oriented with expertise in quality processes and a strong desire to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help enable our mission to Mars. Responsibilities: Take responsibility for validation of conformance of product received from SpaceX suppliers using product and certification reviews Develop world-class inspection capabilities to service both one-off and ongoing needs Drive vision, direction, and efficiency gains to meet scale and quality objectives Drive excellence by improving or redefining inspection processes to achieve high reliability Develop statistical models to guide inspection levels necessary based on product maturity, supplier capability, and other related factors Assist in root cause investigations when quality issues do arise. Communicate findings and train staff on improvements or preventive measures Coach and develop employees, ensuring a highly engaged and accountable workforce Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.     Manufacturing Specialist (Optical Production) SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable. The ultimate goal of the team is to deliver the optical assemblies required for our satellites to achieve their mission. Responsibilities: Execute and manage new configuration introduction into production area Perform process development and validation on new designs in extremely aggressive timelines First-level triage of test failures by reading and interpreting test logs and telemetry Assess non-conforming hardware and drive resolution and preventative actions Design and implement assembly fixtures/shop aides to improve manufacturing process Identify and implement changes to design, process, safety, and floor layout to improve yield, performance, and cost Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard repair procedures Identify, develop, and provide training to production technicians on new or updated processes Create and support equipment maintenance and calibration schedules Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 2+ years professional experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment or a bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, or science discipline Preferred Skills and Experience: Associate or Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math or science discipline Experience as a Lead Technician working on assembly and/or test of sub-assemblies Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings, and instructions Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy Additional Requirements: Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
