    Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a Parsons company, is hiring a junior Cyber Defense Analyst/Threat Hunter, working full-time and onsite at our customer location in Welcome, MD. This position will be a part of mission-focused teams supporting the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and work alongside Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), network engineers, and software developers to implement and operate a defensive cyber monitoring and response environment that spans both on-prem and AWS GovCloud infrastructure.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operate and enhance defensive cyber monitoring systems across hybrid networks (on-prem, AWS GovCloud, and remote sites)Perform real-time and retrospective threat analysis using SIEM, SOAR, and log analytics platforms (Splunk, Elastic, OpenSearch, or similar)Correlate events across diverse telemetry sources - host, network, application, and identity data - to detect anomalies and potential intrusionsDevelop detection content, dashboards, and visualizations to improve situational awareness and incident triage.Conduct threat hunting and adversary emulation activities aligned to MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworksSupport incident response and forensics, collecting and analyzing indicators of compromise (IOCs) and developing post-incident reportsCollaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to integrate monitoring hooks, improve observability, and ensure logging/telemetry pipelines are complete and reliableAutomate common analysis and detection workflows using Python, PowerShell, or GoDevelop playbooks and response automation using SOAR tooling or custom scripts to reduce mean time to respond (MTTR)Participate in red/blue/purple team exercises and contribute to the continuous improvement of defensive posture across CNAP/SNE environmentsSupport compliance and auditing activities, ensuring monitoring, alerting, and response workflows meet DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, STIGs, etc.)

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be a US CitizenMust meet eligibility requirements associated with obtaining an active DoD SECRET clearanceS. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field, from an accredited university and at least one (1) year of professional experience 1–5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network/system administrationFamiliarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, Elastic, OpenSearch, or similar)Understanding of network and endpoint security fundamentals - TCP/IP, firewalls, logs, intrusion detection, and common attack vectorsExperience with Linux and Windows log analysis, event correlation, and alert tuningBasic proficiency with scripting or automation languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)Strong analytical, investigative, and documentation skills - able to produce clear incident reports and threat summariesExcellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate across infrastructure, operations, and development teams

    Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a subsidiary of Parsons, has an immediate full-time opening for a Spacecraft DevOps Engineer (SDE) starting onsite at our office in Alexandria, VA, and eventually transitioning to work full time at our customer site near La Plata, MD. We are seeking a highly motivated SDE eager to apply their technical skills to the growing field of space technology. This role will be responsible for supporting spacecraft development, integration, testing, and operations through automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure management. The SDE will work alongside the software team to maintain and support the autonomy of the spacecraft ground system & will review and analyze logs, trends, and other tools to troubleshoot spacecraft and ground system issues. This position will also interface with software team, spacecraft owners, and Tier 2 support team; create and maintain status tracking documentation in order to effectively report spacecraft and ground status to external mission partners and government partners; create and maintain spacecraft and ground operations procedures; create, modify and maintain software scripts and procedures used in automated satellite tracking and monitoring; participate in the testing of new software baselines, support testing rehearsals; and serve as part of an on-call team and respond to critical errors when required.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Build and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests to standardize application deploymentsDesign and build container images, ensuring they are optimized for production workloadsScan container images for vulnerabilities before deployment to ensure application securityDevelop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Gitlab CI/CD and JenkinsTroubleshoot and report software anomalies On-call support – available to report to site 24/7 for one week of every eight to ten weeksOn-call support – must be within 1 hour of site during on-call rotationsWork in a team environment

    General Experience:
