    Position Summary:

    The Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive compliance program to ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, OSHA/TOSHA, and other applicable standards. This role will partner closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, and administrative departments to promote a culture of compliance and mitigate risk across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program tailored to the needs of a multi-location medical practice.Continuously assess the effectiveness of the compliance program and recommend improvements to align with regulatory changes and organizational growth.Oversee ongoing compliance audits, risk assessments, and internal investigations.Develop and deliver engaging compliance training for physicians, staff, and leadership, ensuring understanding of legal obligations and organizational policies. Create specialized training programs for high-risk functions such as billing/coding.Managing employee and vendor exclusionary programs. Business associate and vendor management.Managing employee compliance hotline/reporting. Monitor regulatory changes and guide the organization in updating policies and practices accordingly.Serve as a resource and subject matter expert on compliance-related issues across the organization.Investigate and resolve potential compliance concerns, documenting findings and corrective actions.Prepare reports for executive leadership and participate in compliance committee meetings.Manage day-to-day needs of the Compliance Department, including investigating potential HIPAA breaches, OSHA safety incidents, reports of noncompliance, and the like. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies. Collaborate with human resources, IT, billing/coding, and other departments on compliance matters.

    Qualifications

    Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related discipline. Candidates without a relevant master’s degree may be considered with significant direct experience in healthcare compliance. Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, preferably within a physician group, specialty practice, or multi-site healthcare organization.Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare and Medicaid rules, and OSHA standards.Significant experience drafting and updating policies and procedures. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent credential required. Demonstrated experience conducting compliance audits, investigations, and risk assessments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory concepts clearly to diverse audiences.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.Proven ability to build trust and influence at all levels of an organization.

    Overview

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Perform clinical ophthalmic photography and diagnostic photographic studies in a timely, courteous and respectful manner.Ensure that FA’s, FP’s, B-scans, and OCT’s are properly labeled and uploaded into the patient’s electronic medical record.Prepare visual media for lectures and conferences.Create patient photo records and maintain a cross-referenced diagnosis/patient database.Perform photography, angiography, and optical coherence tomography according to prescribed protocol for research studies the practice is involved with, as well as submitting images to reading centers in a timely manner.Maintain certification to meet required criteria for research studies.Maintain photo supply and equipment inventory.Manage, upkeep, and review of facility diagnostic equipment including ophthalmic photographic inventory, optical coherence tomography, and ultrasound instruments.Properly manage, replace, and schedule pick-up of full biohazardous waste cans and sharps containersEnsure the supply of sharps containers is adequate at the locations you are working at.Stock and maintain the batteries, bulbs, and fuses needed for clinical operations.Perform routine maintenance on equipment and examination rooms including:Calibration of equipment as neededChanging bulbsClean and stock exam rooms and clinical areasCheck expiration dates of open medications.Verify that the fee slips and imaging logs are reconciledPerform Ophthalmic Assistant duties if required.Accurately documents chart errors according to the following format:One line is to be drawn through the mistake.The initials of the person making the error are to be written along with the date.The corrected information can then be documented.Attend staff meetings as requiredMaintains strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.Performs other duties as required

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Maintain a thorough understanding of each assigned clinical trial protocol, including objectives, endpoints, and regulatory context.

    Coordinate informed consent processes per GCP guidelines, ensuring patient comprehension and appropriate documentation.

    Monitor regulatory documents (e.g., Form 1572, delegation logs) for accuracy and completeness before study initiation.

    Provides guidance to ancillary staff (e.g., photographers, OCT techs, BCVA-certified personnel, front office, masked/unmasked staff) to ensure protocol adherence and timely task execution. Communicates with them proactively throughout the study.

    Collaborate with the Screening Department to develop and process screening packets within enrollment timelines.

    Screen, enroll, and retain eligible patients in assigned studies while monitoring for protocol compliance and safety signals.

    Maintain accurate, timely source documentation and electronic CRFs per protocol and SOPs.
