    Position Overview

    The Web Developer will support of the Occupational and Environmental Department of the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. This project entails programming ColdFusion and PL/SQL code to receive, interpret, and process XML data files from the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS). Additional programming will be needed to generate data feeds from information stored in an Oracle relational database for transfer back into the DOEHRS system. These data feeds may be in the form of XML, Microsoft Excel files, CSV files or as a Web Service. This computer program capability will be hosted within the Human Performance Wing Support System (HPWS); specifically the OE Laboratory Information and Management System modules (LIMS).

    Responsibilities

    Interact with government customers to understand technical requirements for computer programming projects. Provide advice and assistance with computer programming projects using ColdFusion, Oracle PL/SQL, XML, JavaScript, and jQuery programming languages. Provide advice and assistance in the creation of technical documentation. This includes Functional Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, ER Diagrams, Test plans, Deployment Plans, training material, and project management and tracking artifacts. Provide advice and assistance with production of training materials as well as assistance with customer, in-person training if needed. Provide advice and assistance with communication of project status to OE customers.Provide assistance with occasional general software maintenance tasks within the Human Performance Wing Support System (HPWS).

    Minimum Qualifications

    U.S. CitizenB.S. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related, and 4 years relevant work experience or any Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years relevant work experience or any post-secondary education and 8 years relevant work experienceIAT Level IIMust have programming experience developing data-driven web applications using Adobe ColdFusion or similar platform, Oracle PL/SQL or similar relational database, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQueryExperience working with XML data filesExperience using JavaScript and JQuery AJAX to connect back-end processes with client-side functionalityExperience understanding complex mathematical formulas for translation into application code and database queriesExperience interacting with and processing complex data sets within an Oracle relational database; which includes reading, understanding, designing, writing, and modifying complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions, and connecting them to application processes using Oracle PL/SQL and Adobe ColdFusionExperience working with the complete software development lifecycle; from requirements and design, to building, testing, and deploying a complete software system Experience designing and building, modifying, and scripting relational database objects, including tables, views, sequences, triggers, procedures, and functions
