Role Overview
The Technical Project Manager supports a data engineering initiative and an artificial intelligence (AI) adoption program within an enterprise environment. This role is responsible for the planning, coordination, requirements gathering, business analysis, specification development, project monitoring, and system implementation of moderate to complex data solutions. Acting as a vital facilitator, the manager ensures alignment between business, engineering, data, and AI stakeholders while managing cross-functional timelines and deliverables. An active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, operational objectives, milestones, timelines, and success metrics.
• Conduct detailed resource planning, project budgeting, financial forecasting, and fiscal status reporting across active projects.
• Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently executing a variety of complicated and creative tasks.
Data Engineering & AI Adoption Support
• Support data engineering projects and AI/ML adoption programs by tracking deliverables and ensuring alignment between business partners, data engineers, and AI stakeholders.
• Oversee the planning, modeling, and delivery of data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives.
• Facilitate big data, business intelligence, and analytics projects within complex, cloud-enabled enterprise environments.
• Utilize a working knowledge of SQL, database technologies, and cloud platforms to assist in technical project planning, estimation, and issue resolution.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Operations
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, external vendors, analysts, and business partners to manage timelines and maintain execution schedules.
• Utilize project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet to track and report on deliverables.
• Conduct requirement gathering sessions, document specifications, author project charters, and log post-implementation lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
• 10 or more years of experience leading technical projects or programs in data, analytics, and cloud environments.
• 10 or more years of experience leading data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives from planning through delivery.
• 10 or more years of experience managing business intelligence, big data, and analytics projects in complex enterprise environments.
• 10 or more years of experience supporting healthcare data initiatives (familiarity with standards such as FHIR, CCDA, and HL7 is highly desirable).
• 10 or more years of working knowledge of SQL and database technologies to support project planning, technical estimation, and issue resolution.
• 10 or more years of experience translating complex technical and database concepts for business and executive audiences.
• 10 or more years of experience managing cross-functional teams, external vendors, and complex project timelines.
• 10 or more years of experience collaborating effectively with data engineers, software developers, analysts, and business partners.
• 10 or more years of experience defining project scopes, objectives, milestones, timelines, and success metrics.
• 10 or more years of experience managing project budgets, forecasting, resource planning, and financial status reporting.
• 10 or more years of professional proficiency utilizing project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
• 10 or more years of experience authoring detailed project plans, charters, schedules, and lessons learned.
• 10 or more years of working knowledge of cloud platforms, data systems, or enterprise-class applications.
• 10 or more years of experience exhibiting a proactive leadership style with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
• 8 or more years of experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments, including familiarity with compliance, security, and data governance.
• 8 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry.
• 8 or more years of experience facilitating workshops and consulting with diverse organizational stakeholders.
• 8 or more years of fundamental understanding of information management principles, IT processes, SDLC, enterprise architecture, and technologies.
• 3 or more years of experience supporting artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives at the program or project level.
• Active technical certifications such as TOGAF, Cloud Solution Architecture, Azure/AWS/GCP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe.
