We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence within the community. Your work will be instrumental in enhancing their quality of life through personalized care and support.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.Support clients in community integration by facilitating participation in social and recreational activities.Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring the health and safety of clients.Provide assistance in home community care settings, specifically in a group home setting.Foster a supportive environment by encouraging independence and self-advocacy among clients.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.Engage with clients in meaningful ways to promote cognitive function.
Experience
Previous experience in treatment center, group home, or home health care is preferred but not mandatory.Pay will vary based on experience.Familiarity with direct support practices for individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.Experience in meal preparation and household management is beneficial.Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is an asset.A background in working with people with disabilities or memory care will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
